Diego would come to city

i wonder if the "best friends" feel used when they hear of the other "best friends" lol

Diego would be a great signing. 1 because he is a very good footballer, 2 Because he is very good friends with robinho

:D Sign him, De Jong and Given plz :P

Didn't Robinho, Elano and Diego all come through the same youth team at Santos? They all played there till 2005ish.

surley signing diego would suggest the immenent departure of elano there practically exactly the same type of player except diego is better and younger

I must be the only one on here who's not that impressed with Diego.

His style of play just seems so... untidy.

To be honest i've never seen him play for Bremen, but he's never really shone when i've seen him play for Brazil. To be fair though there's some pretty top players who would get outshone by others in that team. I think he might be one of those players who needs to be at the centre of everything, have the team built around him, don't know if he'd get that here.

You might have a point, but I also think he'd get bullied off the ball in the Prem. I think Arsh would be a better prospect, but not by much.

I dunno why.

I don't think we need another Diego/Arshavin type player, the only attacking position we're really lacking in right now is a target man type forward. Robinho, Ireland, Elano and even SWP can play the role of Diego/Arshavin. I might they'd still strengthen the squad, but bar the full-back positions it would probably be the position we need to strengthen the least. I think Hughes will be aiming to sign a Striker, a Centre Back and a Keeper, if you look at our confirmed targets that we haven't got yet (except Kaka) - RSC, Toure and Given, they're all experienced premiership players, I'd be surprised if we ended up signing any foreign based tempramental flair players like Arshavin and Diego in this window. I know it's not particularly exciting, but from now until the Summer is all about building a solid team to get us as far up the table as possible.
