so, let me get this straight, we now have electronic hoarding around the 2nd tier, displaying club controlled 'flags and banners', and real-life flags and banners cannot be hung from the 2nd tier anymore? and the electronic ones flash and twinkle and change?

have i got it right or misread the situation?
Its more to do with bombarding us with advertising than "digital flags" for the fans.

morrissey would have loved to get 'flash twinkle and change' into a song even if its only about a doppelgänger banner it could be a whole new cult

One thing I have noticed is the lack of Colin's name on and around The Colin Bell Stand. We now have the massive Etihad Stadium sign underneath where the chairmans suite is and then outside we obviously have the other Etihad Stadium sign that was put up last year.
Have I missed it after all this time?

We're sat on the front row of the 2nd tier. The new display units come a good foot above the original wall. The constant changing and flashing ads are right in our eyeline and really distracting when your just watching the match. As for the game being shown on the big screens - not for me thanks. The odd replay is enough. Whoever comes up with all this new fangled razzamatazz, do they do it just to annoy all us old-timers?

Probably more to help those of us without the best views who can't always see what's happening very clearly

is you contact if you want to sort out a digital banner

Thanks for sending through your flag.

We’re recruiting for flags over the next couple of home games and then we’ll be working up digital versions. I’ll let you know if we need any further imagery and when we’re due to go live with flags on the ribbon.

Cheers,

Ross

I'll give the club the benefit of the doubt on this until I see the banners. Think of all the cracking stuff people knock up on photoshop that never gets made, this is a chance to see them in the ground even if they are digital. I get that the advance of this corporate shit annoys people but we have to maximise the money we are bringing in with FFP. The club could just have stuck advertising there all game like pretty much every other club would do. This is a good compromise imo and could even end up looking fantastic.

I think this could really catch on...

how about "we can see you sneaking out" on 75 mins...

or "your luck's in, three hot pies are ready on level two"

or "musical statues in three, two, one..."
