Digital Flags?!?

It's a stupid and insensitive idea, it's not going to enhance my day out. It will detract from it. We all know it's sacrificing the flags for advertising products to the tv audience. Not much consultation with fans groups over this one. I think Oakie is right about the use of soul but sterile might be more appropriate. Get rid of those personalised and individualised flags of the people. Corporate images and right on messages are so much better. Flags are so 2013.
Digitising flags, feck me.

I certainly am not against flags or banners, harrogate, just this fucking stupid word "soul or soulless" which keeps being banded about.
Was it not David Conn who wrote that article after we had been taken over by Sheikh Mansour, "City has sold its soul" !!
WTF was that all about and many, many a Blue Mooner were up in arms about his wording on the subject.

I get your point Oakie, soul or losing it is just a stick to beat us with. I must admit though we are getting treated as if we were customers now, probably have been for a while, rather than fans.
I think most of what City has/have done has been fantastic, but I can't take digitising flags seriously or even the thought of seeing, as someone suggesting lyrics of our songs so people can join in. Wow.

We are or are about to be a money making enterprise, that's how it is but it doesn't mean we have to like shit like this much.

Grumpy fecker loyal.

I don't think it will be too long before the digital flag system is hacked.

I think hacking would be brilliant.
We could have a hand with six fingers holding up an oatcake when we play Stoke, or a picture of Ronnie Whelan's daughter when Stevie G comes out, or a Hamas flag when Spurs take the field.
What could possibly go wrong?

Plus there could be a digital miracle like Lou Macari's chippy opening or him paying the tax man!

Sad really our stadium already feels soulless as it is.

Looked awsome at the QPR game when all the large banners were up

maybe the digital version could replace "loud , proud , loyal" with "quiet , sanitised , rich"?

More watering down of football supporting.

May as well put a PG certificate on everyone's SeasonCard, just so we all know that everything is going to be completely sanitised and aimed at families.

I watched the Arsenal away draw last season in the "Tap Room" of my local boozer.

I shouted out the usual industrial language when they equalised and got a bollocking off some women because her young son was watching the game as well.

Now I don't like kids in pubs at the best of times but hey ho in the main lounge area fair enough, but i was in the tap room.

This is where we are heading folk. Long gone are the days when 90% of the crowd were Working class males. You just have to look back at old footage from the 70's. Mostly blokes in the crowd and no replica shirts.
