How do you offer players a contract many years in advance that will see them earn 200k+ a/week at the age of 33? Few players are worth that at 27, let alone at 33, when most are declining. If Pep doesn't even include him now....he is not gonna use him much in the future. Replacing Yaya now would be a big boost for our season.

It's quite common for players to receive a loyalty bonus when their contracts expire and if Yaya's bonus is high then there would be little to gain by leaving now, no matter what Seluk has in the pipeline.

I reckon Yaya may have done enough to forfeit that loyalty bonus, seeing as the lads who drew up his last contract had previous experience of his cockroach of an agent.
