direct cup and you get first chance of tickets !!!

So you and your mate get season tickets. He joins the Cup Scheme and you don't. You go to all the away games in the league and he doesn't.

First game in the Carling Cup, we go to West Brom and get beaten. You go and he doesn't.

First game in the FA Cup, we go to Notts County and win. You go and he doesn't.

Next game we go to Leicester and win. You go and he doesn't.

We win another game away which you go to and he doesn't then we play Reading at home. He goes to his first cup game and we beat them to get to a semi at Wembley.

He gets a ticket and you don't. Is that fair? No it isn't.

He's paid for one extra game and yet could get a semi-final ticket over someone who went to all the four away games in the cup and every away game in the league. Not right at all.

Good to know that whilst i was sat freezing my arse of at the Salzburg game, with snow blowing into me face for 90 minutes, that i was going to get first dibs on tickets for a Wembley semi-final against United

The club are not stupid, they would of clocked how many fans would have qualified under a certain amount of points, i can guarentee you, there will be less fans getting tickets from the cup scheme with one season under their belt, than say supporters clubs...........................but we wont go there hay.

You have been, but if you dismiss it out of hand then there's no point repeating it.

Of course Citycard is relevent... it shows how differnet membership levels have different priority.

I compared the way the league games are prioritised and showed how City have basically matched that in Cup form.

Personally i think it's fair, our attendences in the cup this season have been nothing short of a joke... add to that that any ST holders who wants to get to the final with any kind of loyalty history will get one and City have introduced a reward scheme without hurting anyone yet giving everyone plenty of notice for next season (the final may be different a bridge to cross if we get to it).

I think its a joke anyone is against it. When you sign up for the cup scheme you don't know how much you're going to have to fork out, nor how frequently... you can budget for a ST, you can't budget for the CS.

As much as you think what i'm saying is bollocks, i'd have to say every single point you've put forward stands up to no scrutiny what so ever (bearing in mind you didn't mention the one point i'd say everyone agrees should have been done different - telling everyone at the beginning of the season).

Deep down i think it's people who are pissed off they can't pick and choose the games as they like (although if they opened their eyes, they'd see that they're going to Wembley anyway).

You are missing the point yet again GStar.

We both agree that those who go to every cup game should be rewarded, but then it has to be EVERYONE who has attended EVERY cup game not a minority of people.

I don't pick and choose the games i like, i go to everyone. It wouldn't matter if they were £15 or if they were £60, i would find a way of going to every extra cup game. Have you been to every cup game this season like me? If you have then don't we both deserve the chance to que jump everyone else? The only thing you have done different is given your credit card details to the club incase we get a home cup tie.

Can you not see where i am coming from? I am not someone who has watched half the games on TV and not bothered to go to them and is now kicking up a fuss because people who have been to every cup game is now jumping ahead of me even though i may have had a season ticket for the last 10 years, i am someone who has been to every cup game and is being shafted for simply not giving my credit card details over. Can you not see that? Put yourself in my shoes, imagine you didn't get the CDS form off in charge, would you honestly say you would be happy with this?
If all the above is correct then why not join the scheme then ? Puzzling

There are lots of ways to make it look unfair, but as i said, if the club felt too many were going to get an easy ride, they wouldnt of done this.

And if those two mates go to every league game, yet one gets to watch utd at home last day of the season yet the other doesn't despite spending more money overall as he didn't buy a ST, is that unfair too?

then sold it...double bonus...recoup the outlay and get loyalty points added

Oh how I wish I had gone for the £40 bet for 40 pages instead of the £20 bet for 20 pages!!!

You know guys, no matter how much you debate it on here, or anywhere else, the club have made the decision. When you buy your season ticket or you register on the Cup Direct scheme you agree to abide by THEIR rules. And them's the rules and the club win hands down. Sorry. :-)

And I still think that my Bert Trautmann TV watching final should give me extra points!! :-)

Well, why join the cup scheme if your going to go to all the games? Whats the point of it except its less hassle for you to get tickets?

Anyone who has had a season ticket from start of COMS, even if they have not done a single cup, away or friendly game, should have 3000 points. Just added them up (nothing on TV , except Comic Relief, and the stuff I am seeing on there puts a semi-final ticket into persepective.)
From the way club have done this I reckon they have worked out they have enough for anyone with 3000 points. So stop the moaning, loyalty for last few years is being rewarded too. We are going to Wembley, how long have we all waited for this?? We should all be over the Blue Moon not bickering over a points system.

I'm guessing most are, but this is an internet forum, there's always something to complain about and debate tirelessly.

It will be an even sadder day when fans just accept what happens all in the name of "success".
