what has Barry said today about MP saying "you're not good enough" as thats all i know ?

You present that as if it is a direct quote of what MP said! I very much doubt that is how MP worded it but quite obviously he told Barry that he did not think he would get many games at City this season.

I have read the interview in 2 different newspapers and Barry effectively said he was shown the door.
I understand you and a few on here cannot tolerate anything less thab 100% positivity about MP but
thats what Barry said. As I also said its no big deal so why try and make it one?

I'm wondering if there was pressure on Pellegrini to let him go (to balance the books). If not, it seems like a bizarre decision.

With the talent we have, we should be doing better...

All that was needed was a bigger points haul against the lower teams..

All i can think of is the motivation when playing these teams, we are obviosly not preparing correctly ?

If the manager makes a decision like that about a player then I'd rather he was honest about it than simply freezing the player out like Mancini did with Lescott for example or Keegan did with Berkovic. Personally I agree it looks like a mistake but we don't know if Pellegrini was under pressure to reduce the wage bill.

You could possibly be correct. But he will probably end up as Everton's player of the year. A silly decision to let him go regardless of the reason.
He was just what we needed last Sunday.

You're kidding right ? I suggest you go watch the City Southampton game from last season again and have a look at what less talented but mobile players did to Barry.

Haha. The irony in you calling me blinkered after positing that what we needed against one of the most mobile and agile attacks in all of Europe was Gareth fucking Barry.

-- Sun Apr 20, 2014 3:35 pm --

Yes that's it. Had we had Barry we wouldn't have lost all the game we've lost this season!

Hahahahahahahaha. Really if I told someone this conversation was happening they'd tell me I was lying. But it's actually happening. You people are actually posting this stuff seriously.

Barry was great against teams lower down the table who were happy to sit back but generally got horribly found out against quicker teams. He would have been ideal for the games where we needed to rest Yaya or Fernandinho. But Garcia seems to have everything found his feet in that role now.
