The problem there is arsenal have more players in midfield who can score goals, yaya and fern chasing carzola, ozil, ramsey, wilshire whose movement is best in the prem.

How many times have we seen over the years teams can't win away from home then bingo it happens and then they struggle at home, do our players want it enough that they are willing to put that effort in 90% of the time both home and away?

It's going to be an interesting call - but history tells us it's going to be 442 with Negredo/Kun up top. Not really sure you can argue against it at home with the way our current home form is.

My version of today's events is that it wasn't so much the formation but more of key players having a bit of a bad day at the office. Negredo, Kun and Yaya were all a little below par today. As a unit on the whole I thought we defended rather well and I don't recall many heart in the mouth moments when this very effective and underrated Saints side got close to our Goal.

On the questions being raised about the lack of options in midfield with the concerns over the fitness of Rodwell, the mobility of Garcia and the technical ability of Milner; I wonder if Mr P has considered Zabaleta ?

He played there quite often under Hughes. His last game in that role was against Poznan in the Europa and he did have an absolute shocker but he is energetic and he can pick a pass.

And I would like to add that despite beating Tottenham 6-0, we are even with a GD of +26 to their -1 only 2 points in front. That suggests we score for fun when the pressure is off.

Like I've already said I'm not going round in circles with you. My point of view is clear. I don't think it's that hard to understand. I understand yours, I don't agree with it at all. But I understand why you feel the need to further it.

You've provoked this by sneering at people with 'trophy lust', yes, we want trophies and success, as do the people entrusted with running our club, whether that's five trophies spread across two terrific years or consistently picking up one a year, they still want success. Success is not less important than style. We have not scaled back our ambition with the appointment of Soriano and Txiki. Quite the opposite.

Having it read it tonight I have to disagree with your interpretation, he clearly states several times that the best possible product is a winning team:

"A good football product is a team that wins...The FC Barcelona product is the team - it is the starting and finishing point.
