The football is the best it has ever been.

This team can cut you to ribbons, pass you to death or simply bide its time.

It's been a few years in coming but the arrogance and desire required to dominate is coming on stream.

Most importantly of all, we are cultivating an identity.

I see it the same way. Billy said it above too. I've been refraining from posting it because all the Binary Bills will misconstrue it.

The Sheikh's vision is finally coming to pass before our very eyes. We are going up through the gears and we haven't been able to put our full strength team out yet. to watch this develop is absolutely thrilling.

The future is finally here.

I'll say it, 4-4-2 works. But only when the everyone plays well and the vast majority play at their best.

This isn't a formation really that you can play poorly and really get a result, as proven by our either "we win or we lose" results this season. Thus issues such as switching off just aren't affordable because they cost us results, there is very little margin for error but the plus points are enormous when we play well.

It's high risk for high reward, but big falls if it doesn't work. Pelle got away with it in the end last night, it wasn't his fault as you could tell he was deeply unimpressed by the players switching off, but it's an issue that needs to be resolved, because it's become noticeable that against all but the top teams away and possession teams home and away that the tactics work, but only when everyone is absolutely on it.

No margin for error, and he HAS to drill it into every single member of the squad.

Agreed. But as I said in the post game thread it comes back to mentality and this inability to concentrate for the full 90+ minutes is our 'mentality'. A team that switches off is the managers responsibility. A team that switches off on a consistent basis is a reflection of the manager. This will be our season. At times sublime and at times jaw dropping ineptitude not because the players aren't good enough but because they have all gone walkabout in their heads.

It is what it is.

Because he was resting him of course.

Sorry but you could clearly see in Sergios body language that he was not happy. Neither was I and we completely went to pot for 20 minutes when he went off.
Letting Dzeko lead the line is simply suicidal and another 10 mins last night and we could quite easily have drawn that game.
Why does Suarez not get taken off at Liverpool.
Or Shrek at the swamp
Or Giroud at the Tarquins.

Sorry,play your best team.
Giroud was rested last night!

And Liverpool have to play Suarez. They rely on SaS. They are SaS. City are better than that, but nevertheless we need to keep key players like Kompany, Silva and Aguero fit and on top form. Last season, Aguero's season was destroyed by injury, and he missed almost the entire pre-season with a knee injury but you want us to play him every minutes, every 3/4 days?

good post Marvin. some folk just dont get it.

I really do hope it's not a case of future shock on the south coast on Saturday. And are the Binary Bills related to the Bungalow Bills?

Anyione who doesn't think giving Sergio (Nasri and Yaya too) a break when the game is over, so that he's fit for the next game, is either on the WUM, or plain daft. That our defence can't defend properly for 6 out of 90 minutes is not the fault of the substitutions, and those that say otherwise must have had their eyes shut. We should have been 4 or 5-0 by half time anyway, and he could have rested him (them) for 45 minutes if we'd put our chances away.

For those of us who were so enamoured by Pellegrini's Villareal team last night was a pleasure to watch but not unexpected. The passing and movement, the team goals. There was an intuitiveness about our best players, and also an overall intuitiveness from back to front about positioning in the defensive phase. We limited West Brom, a dangerous team, to absolutely nothing for 80 plus minutes. This whilst playing the dreaded 442.

Here's what i feel like. We're a juggernaut that is finally beginning to gather momentum. The manager deserves fucking oodles of praise considering some of the comments which have been aimed in his direction by people in the last few months. That's not about starting a tit for tat argument, it's just a fact. He's been called the "chilean David Moyes", out of his depth, clueless, etc.

What he is is a top drawer manager and we're lucky to have him.

post your opinions but dont tske the piss.

Pellegrini IS a top draw manager. I'm not convinced I'd go as far as to say we're lucky to have him however. City are a legitimate top club these days, with a chance of winning major honours, we've some of the World's best players in our squad so we're always going to eb able to attract a top draw manager, in fact we probably had 3 or 4 of them to chose from in the Summer.

he's an ok ish manager. i think of him as a moyes with bells on. a bit more open.

Football has improved over the last month and is excellent now. Seems a real momentum and feel that things are going to happen. But while we're third I'll hold off thoughts of world domination.

It was always going to happen once players were given equal amounts of trust and the freedom to express themselves.

I don't think even our players yet know how much easier this game can be when everything is implemented and on message,

We are becoming a mixture of Chelsea's first time under Jose, yet with the skill and poise of the Arsenal Henry era.

Pellegrini has the opportunity to go down as a true legend of legacy.
