I've not been impressed with Pellers so far but all this talk of sacking him is madness, got to give him time to sort it all out surely?

Exactly how I think.
I don't think we are still that far away from getting back on track. The longer we keep underperforming away from home, the more difficult it will be for him to sort it out though.

I doubt any City fan would want the opposition to win to prove a point. That said in my mind it is now confirmed that Pellegrini is inept and frankly the sooner he is gone the better.

Genuine question .... who would you like to replace Pellegrini? Try and be realistic though ... be interesting to see who the candidates are who you think can and will do a better job than the gaffer.

Benitez who would jump at the chance and for me is driven to win trophies but I can't see that happening he doesn't fit into what our owners want..

Think we will stick with Pellegrini for the next 2 years if we finish in the top 4 because he has achieved his 1st job, then we will try to get Pep or Klopp or even Employ within with patrick vieira,

I'm really hoping Pellegrini puts it right but going of our performances in general away from home it's going to be a long season, he needs to at least win our next two away games to get us back on track..

BTW - I'd love to give Pellers time. Next season we could be quite good - especially if we get some space aware fast defenders that would plug the gaps in Pellegrini's defensive scheme- left back especially (way over 50% of the goals we conceded come from this weakness). But with him, this season will be a right off. The best managers choose a scheme to suit the players - Pellegrini hasn't and that is why he is not one of the best managers.

Indeed, the way things are, I doubt we will qualify for the CL unless he makes major changes away from home and we will be out of the CL as soon as we meet a decent team that overloads us in midfield. He's just lucky that we are in the easiest CL group there is this season.

Pretty much anyone to be honest. This fella doesn't learn from his mistakes.

Guus Hiddink and Marcelo Bielsa (the man Gardiola rates as the best in the world) are available now. Both would do an excellent job for a couple of seasons.

I actually wanted Martinez from Wigan or Laudrup from Swansea - though I doubt we could get Martinez now. Plenty of others would come here,

BTW Mancini had to go. You don't give our owner an ultimatum and tell him how to run things.

It's really sad that you've drawn such a strong conclusion on Pellegrini so early in the season. I also can't help but wonder whether the manner which he was employed has clouded your judgement. If I remember correctly you were demanding Txiki and Ferran be sacked for their handling of Mancini's sacking.

Hiddink would never come to City - he's too close to Abramovich. Bielsa's an interesting one. Had a similar reputation to Pellegrini only never quite got Bilbao into the CL. I suspect if Bielsa was our manager you'd have the same "high line - he doesn't know what he's doing he can't organise a defence" argument you have for Pellegrini.

Anyway, I'm confident as fuck that your posts are going to look pretty fucking stupid come the end of the season ... but that's a win win for both of us mate ... :)

Why can't someone say that up to now he's done a shite job without being accused of wanting us to finish outside the top 4, or watch us lose a shit load of games to see him sacked? Personally I think we've been awful, and our home wins have glossed over some big issues. However, I thank God that everyone else is dropping points as well, so we're still in it, and I can only hope that we'll improve and go on some decent unbeaten run that sees us catapult up the league.

However, there's no hiding the fact that at this moment in time we're shit. You can dress stats up all day long to say how much posssion we have or how many shots we had on target - we're awful when missing a couple of players, and after spending all that fucking money it really isn't good enough. That is where a good manager comes into his own - he can move players around, or change tactics or try promoting a youngster to freshen things up.

Time will tell........I'm hoping that by 1 Jan we'll be right up there.

You believe we are so shit but hope we are up there by 1 Jan, nothing changes being a City fan!
I hate having to spell things out, but that's Bluemoon. What I mean by that last comment is that I hope Pellegrini sorts it out. I honestly thought that was obvious.

I'm also lying saying that things are not improving. They are - but far, far too slowly to help us win the league or qualify for the CL this season.
For example, "The press" play is improving - game on game - but very very slowly. By about the end of March it should be of sufficient quality to win stuff and take pressure off the high line defence.

It just baffles me why he we he went for the higher line defence without a good enough "Press" in place first, For the higher line to work the "Press" MUST work properly. It simply doesn't work the other way round.

Pellers doesn't have the time to meet our owners demands for CL qualification.
He has to be pragmatic and play to the strength of his players or be dispensed with ASAP.

The man needs to be given time. And people seem to forget that our captain and best defender by a country mile has been injured for a long time. I know we should have a backup, strong squad, yadda yadda, but there aren't that many players like Vinnie in the world, let alone in one club, and the idea he could be out injured for months without our defence suffering (especially when our main goalie's been off form) is laughable.

To be honest then mate ... we've not got much to worry about. If even by your standards by mid march we'll be firing on all cylinders then all's well. Every manager deserves some time to implement their ideas and beliefs on the squad and also have the opportunity to shape the squad how they want. Pellegrini is working on things. He will have January to shape the squad a little more.

One trophy this season will be fine ... we can wait until next for a double ... :)

The manner of our away defeats - where there is a big gap between results and performances suggests it's not a coaching problem

The worry for me is that the poor away results impact on our game at home, and it spins out of control

Injuries play a key part too. Had Silva and Fernandinho not picked up injuries, then I feel sure we would have won at Sunderland and we'd have had some much needed momentum in this stop-start season
