Feel sorry for David Silva

Genuinely think he deserves to be playing amongst the elite footballers not a bunch of fucking bottle jobs.

Doesn't matter who's been in charge neither Mancini or Pellegrini have been able to get these players across the line when it matters

And before anyone points to us winning the league in 2012, look how close we actually were to making a mess of that, the QPR game reminded me a lot of tonight's game

Kolarov, Nasri, Dzeko, Garcia, Milner and Hart just simply not good enough mentally and don't have the ability for where this club wants to be.

Forget the manager, we've got too many players that will always be the bridesmaid and never the pride

As expected, knee jerk foamers by the bucketload.
Ya Ya injured, Silva injured, Navas injured, Aguero barely half fit, a struggle was inevitable before a ball had even been kicked tonight. But of course it's all Pellegrini's fault, cos he spent £100m on a miracle squad. So that's Negredo to replace Tevez, Jovetic, who's been injured all season, to replace Balotelli, and Ferna to replace Gaz Baz, which pretty much leaves Navas as the lone upgrade. Oh, and we've lost Kompany for 10 weeks, Jovetic for 20+ Weeks, Silva for 8 weeks, Aguero for 12 weeks, Nastasic for 16 weeks+, and Nasri for 6 weeks, and yet somehow this clueless clown has us on course to finish 3 or 4 points better off than we did last year in a far more competitive league. Bring back Bobby from Real Madrid, quick......oh, wait, hang on a mo.....
I'm not gonna pretend a turd's a diamond, cos that was a truly minging performance tonight, the lack of pace and urgency that plagued us last season every bit as visible now as it was last season. However, it's interesting to note that those squealing loudest about the manager not having a clue, are the same ones who routinely barrack him for picking Navas over Milner (the latter was truly truly shit tonight), and who are only just waking up to the realisation that DiMichelis does indeed suit our high defensive line better than Lescott after all. Losing the league tonight in that gutless fashion was painful, but I for one will judge Pellegrini once he's got the players he wanted in January - a top centre half, and an athletic midfield powerhouse (to which I'd add a wide midfielder with the pace and power to get past the fullback - and not cross the ball gormlessly into the legs of a defender standing 3 feet away from him, or chip it hopelessly out of play, all night long). If he tanks once he's got a squad to suit his MO then fair do's, bin him off. Until then though, stop throwing your toys out of your prams, eh?

It's a good post fella, however MP has made some fundamental selection and tactical mistakes which weren't down to injuries or squad depth.

I wouldn't disagree, but then show me a manager who hasn't. There's plenty of mitigation though in my opinion and far too many people are drinking in the press myth of our fabulous squad. Scratch below the surface of Silva, Ya Ya, Kun and Kompers, and there's nothing much else there to separate us from your Everton's, Tottenham's or the rags. 2 of the 4 were missing tonight and it might as well have been 3. Bound to have an impact. We need more pace and athleticism right across the board. A move for Simeone might well be in the offing IMO. I accept that, but some of the crap on here tonight about Pellegrini is just that; crap.

It's funny. We've now experienced both ends of the spectrum;

Mancini - ballistic hot head who couldn't restrain his own behaviour. Constantly blamed players for defeats and encouraged an environment of tension.

Pellegrini - complete walk over who seems to come out with the same shit every time we lose. Encouraging the team to play after his own personality; fucking laid back.

Why can't we have a mix of the two? Klopp, Simeone and Ancelotti are all fierce managers who demand respect but are well liked.

I feel like we have a puppet in charge.

I think the players have taken us for a ride by getting their own man installed. Now they can put in lazy performances like this without taking any of the public ridicule.

Seriously. He's a plank. A nice lovely plank.

And wtf was that about, taking Ferny off and leaving Garcia on? I know Fern was knackered but fuck me Garcia never moved from in front of the back 4. Complete waste when chasing a game.

Garcia was our best player on the pitch which unfortunately tells it's own story

What??? Garcia only passes backwards.. My 7yo could do that!!!

Not really convinced by him all season, and to be honest I'd rather have a transfer ban now than give him a credit card over summer, tonight was shite fucking gutless Mancini would be kicking fuck out of them right now but they will all be getting tucked in from Pellergrini and holistic cookies and milk too

No, I'm sick to the back teeth with you apologists.
The dippers were without Suarez for their first six games, yet have contested throughout.
Maybe that's because they play as a team, and have sufficient motivation and desire to win that extends beyond their ludicrous pay packets, and a manager who can get the best out of the resources available, even when a key player is absent.
I'm fed up of hearing 'wait 'til January', or BillyShite and his 'give him three more years'.
He has had a better squad at his disposal than Mancini had, and has singularly underachieved.
I don't want another season of seeing him spunking money up the wall for zero return.
He simply isn't up to the job, and the sooner he is gone the better.

Best fuck off then

and he did well tonight didnt he

He's managing Everton; I've seen people on Grand Designs with a bigger budget than him.

He didn't do too bad against Mancini in the FA Cup final though did he, where he outclassed him from start to finish?

And Pellegrini got Villarreal to a CL SF, with a budget smaller than Keith Chegwin's penis on a winter's day.

See - we can all come up with silly reason like that, can't we?

Let Martinez prove himself with Everton first before people start clambering for the first manager who appears to be having a good season.

Martinez hasn't proved himself, you say. A manager proves himself, not by the trophies that he's won, but by the things he achieves with the players he has available. Ask the fans of Swansea, Wigan and Everton what they think of him and get back to me, yeah. What's more, Martinez, or any sane manager, would not line up 4-4-2 against Bayern Munich. Basic, basic, basic football - lesson one in how to manage a football team - which blows away any argument about Pellegrini not having money to spend on players.

So, there I was, giving it the large one about Pellegrini not playing Milner instead of Navas at Liverpool and there I was all delighted tonight that he got a start.

What a time to put in possibly his worst performance in a Blue shirt.

Cheers Jim. No, honest, cheers mate.
