Seem to remember Mancini's appraisal being brought forward.
He brought it forward by the way he dealt with those senior too him. Someone knew, and "leaked" it somewhere, so that the media could do maximum damage before a cup final, as they disn't want us winning another trophy, plenty wanted that, so it could have come from anywhere.

I don't think there was ever going to be an appraisal, just a sacking, which the man himself had basically manufactured over the course of the previous few months.

My assumption has always been that the leak came from Barcelona as at the time they were also interested in Pellegrini.

If it was internal and done to cost us the Cup Final then payback from Khaldoon may be coming this weekend if they don't
deliver Pep. The MUEN's sources won't be Mansour and Khaldoon. Ultimately they are the only ones who really know what's happening.

I'd really like to think it wasn't internal. but Ancelotti is still the bookies favourite for the job. It's been reported that he has support
in Abu Dhabi but not amongst the senior management in Manchester (no surprise there).

It will all be resolved very shortly one way or another. My money is still on Pep but as I say the bookies say differently.

Manuel is very good at deflecting the questions about the new manager, when you suspect he knows what the club is planning, very diplomatic is our manager.

Mine too, but I also suspected rag involvement somewhere, it was very much in their interest for us not to win anything (DD will no doubt accuse me of reds under the bed syndrome).

It certainly wasn't internal/intentional from City, though being spotted on foreign soil speaking to another manager wasn't very clever.

Either way Mancini had talked himself out of a job, both by his confrontational way with those above, and what he'd done the previous spring (despite the contract extension, he marked his own card).

MP doesn't appear to have done anything similar, and I think he'll be retained unless we can get the one they want, which I don't think they will, at least not this summer anyway, and I think the rest is a risk.

It Doesn't matter if you've watched them 100 times or 5 times.

What an incredible statement that is in terms of judging a player
I mean you could watch them countless times and think they're great but still doesn't mean they'll be ready to play in the prem, despite what you think as the gap is huge.

Should be sacked on Monday if he plays a full team against Soton. Simple as that.

I agree with much that you say but I hope that is a wind-up. Not that I don't think he should give a youngster or two a taste of the first team. He also though needs to let one or two have their City Swansong and deliver another win against a team that will be up for it. Ending the season as the form team in the division is something positive to take into next season.
Mourinho is about to give his eighth young player a run in the first team. The sum total of Pellegrini is two. He played Pozo out of position and we never saw him again, and he dropped Lopes after one very good game and then one poor one.

I assuming Pellegrini will be around next season. I don't think whether we win or lose a game against a lower ranked opponent will turn on whether one of Barker, Ambrose, Pozo, Celina Angelino or Maffeo is on the pitch. Even if Angelino, for example, does make a mistake, no one here can deny that both Clichy and Kolarov have made plenty of mistakes this season. But of course when both had horror runs they continued to get picked because Pellegrini had faith and trust in them. So if Angelino makes a mistake then so be it. That's what happens to all players now and then.

If Mourinho of all people can introduce young players, then Khaldoon should in no uncertain terms be telling Pellegrini the same thing as part of the annual review.

It's about introducing the player at the right time in a game. None of us are advocating starting games with half the EDS squad. But we are advocating the wise and thoughtful introduction of these players during games.

For once, just once, I would like Pellegrini to play someone under the age of 23.

Sheikh Mansour is obsessed with wanting Pep and these guys are trying everything to get him by the looks of it. That much it maybe compromising our position.

I'm happy for MP staying but things need to seriously improve. Let's hope the sheikh gets what he wants or I think we maybe missing a good opportunity with Klopp.

How many youth team products did Mourinho play before their league position was assured?

You lot seem to know a lot about what the Sheikh wants and is thinking.

Did you not know Damocles that they are all mind readers and psychics?

For my part, I hope that Mr Pellegrini stays.

I also hope that he does not play any Academy players tomorrow because it would be unfair to the players who have been sitting on the sidelines for the season and would give us, the fans, the chance to say goodbye to a few who may (or may not) be with us next season.

The youngsters can have their chance next season but let's be fair to the senior players please.
