Liverpool,Arsenal and maybe even the Rags are in better form than us.....so losing our top 4 place is a real concern.Personally I think he has run out of ideas,so.....do we stick or twist? whatever the answer,it's certainly one of the biggest questions of recent times......?? Saturday may just have turned into a season/career defining game.

This decision is gonna hinge on the intentions of the potential successors. For my money City will know already who they can/can't get this summer. Hence I think we'll have clarity sooner rather than later.

Almost certainly they will have sounded out future management options, however,my main concern now is the interim......regardless of the successor and the timing of their arrival.....I'm beginning to think Pellegrini is currently more of a hindrance than a saviour and by keeping him in situ may even be causing us long term damage.
I'm not even sure he knows his best team or line up.

Maybe this is a cop out on my part but I can't believe that that team of ours carries certain basic characteristics which Pellegrini normally has in his team's. Yes he has his own limitations but if they choose to keep him he'll have practically a new team next season and id expect and the club would demand progress on that basis.

So,if the team doesn't represent the manager's characteristics.....do you think the recent signings are of his choosing?

I don't really think that's relevant mate as with the exception of Mangala we've primarily been buying squad players. I'm talking about our best XI. But as I said maybe it's a cop out because I like Pellegrini and don't necessarily think that he deserves to be sacked without a clear idea of who comes next and a clear feeling that person will do better over both the short and long term.

The crux of the issue is the number of players out of form. The same thing happened under mancini. You can have 1 or 2 players below par, fine, but when you have a number of players out of form it points to a bigger issue.
He can't get the most out of these players anymore- he just can't get them motivated or buying into his "philosophy".

He was a breath of fresh air to mancini's hostile nature last season, clearly. But it's looking nothing more than that unfortunately.

What's worrying is hearing him say he wouldn't have done anythig differently in either leg. He just seems incapable to see issues, or faults.

I cannot believe that the club would sanction "a new team" under a manager with only a year left on his contract, and little likelihood of a new one being offered

The entire point of a DoF is so you can do exactly that IMO.

I also don't think going into the final year of his contract is a huge issue. It's not like a new contract guarantees he'll be around beyond next season or that the players will believe that.

The main point of a DOF is player recruitment, and the track record of our's has been appalling. He got the puppet of a manager he wanted to allow him his own transfer policy and he has fucked it up big time and should pay the penalty accordingly. In addition he has allowed the squad to age, and has put players like Nasri and Kolarov on fat contracts that their lack of application doesn't merit

it was the same fecking team we fielded last season for feck sake when will people understand pellegrini is having fecking laugh.

get him out.

the squad is good enough to win the champions league, we just a need a manager with deep knowledge of the game.

pellegrini clearly is still an apprentice, still learning, there's managers out there with a much better cv.

Meh, you've lost me. The post above can just be filed under "everyone's shit and everything is fucked let's sack them all".

Time will tell but I'd still be betting on Pellegrini remaining in charge next season and as for Txiki - he's going nowhere for the foreseeable future.
