Genuine question here - is there not a growing worry about the overall mentality/attitude of a number of your players that they are seemingly downing tools under Pellegrini's leadership, just like they did towards the end of Mancini's reign?

This isn't as though you have brought in managers of the David Moyes ilk, who have zero success for players to look up to. Mancini & Pellegrini are managers of European calibre, who have won trophies and shown they are capable of making their teams play attractive football, yet there seems to be an underlying issue amongst the players.

Was talking to a (City supporting) mate of mine last night and I said that you are simply a poor team without the ball, to which he agreed, and I believe it's hard not to. But why is that?

Tactics?
Incapable management?
Uninterested players?

Not trying to make a dig here BTW, just curious to what you think of it?

I still think you'll win the league if I am perfectly honest (as I am banking on the standard Arsenal collapse), but I don't think's a particularly difficult league to win. If any of the top PL teams this season had performed consistently to the levels the players, on paper, should do, then they'd be in control of this league - this most certainly applies to City.

He`s a winger come midfielder and over the past 2 seasons has helped create more assists for his team mates.Little end product my arse.Look at KDB last night in hisn position, the fucker never got his crosses past the first man.

Navas 1 goal 5 assists this season
KDB 11 goals 14 assists
Fernandinho 3 goals 2 assists
Sterling 9 goals 6 assists

So you think his stats warrant more starts?

Like i say-no end product

Picking the best 11 players you have doesn't necessarily make a team. Picking the best 11 players that fit together does. Navas like it or not should be in that 11

He has proved since he has been at the club that his assists (I`m not talking about this season alone) have even out weighed Silvas, but then again some supporters like to have selected memory loss when it suits them.I would certainly start him way ahead of KDB in away games,as we certainly look more menacing going forward and at least he puts his foot in,something which KDB shits himself at doing.

As injuries and form stand...

ZABBA......SAGNA......OTAMENDI........KOLAROV
................FERNANDINHO...DELPH.....
NAVAS.............SILVA/KDB..............STERLING
...................AGUERO.................
This is exactly how I see it, he needs to bite the bullet and see what is staring him in the face

1. No more YAYA until he bucks his ideas up
2. We only need 1 playmaker in the team and he should play in the number 10 spot, not being wasted out wide
3. Navas and Sterling to stretch the play both horizontally and vertically, plus the work rate they offer with tracking the oppo full backs

Why are some of them lazy?

Is it because they are not fit / conditioned enough and never will be up to what is required or they are lazy mentally and again will never step up to the mark.

We are struggling to be a side feared by most irrespective of whether we have possession or not.

Is that the narratIve we are supposed to be going with now? A handful of lazy players? Have they just become lazy? If not, why on God's green earth are they still here, whoever they are? If they have just become lazy, why? I just really don't buy this lazy thing. Demotivated maybe, uncommitted possibly, but lazy? Really?

Personally think Navas should start most away matches at the expense of Silva or KdB.

At home we're more likely to need lock pickers so Silva and KdB can play together. Away the home team have more possession so we need Navas defensively and he is good at stretching the opposition.

When things aren't working - go back to basics and what you know worked. This is the team that played Chelsea off the park. Out of that lot only Kompany is not available and Bony on the bench. To me, the name that is jumping out of my screen is Navas.

Hart, Sagna, Kompany (C), Mangala, Kolarov, Yaya Toure, Fernandinho, Navas, Silva, Sterling, Aguero

Unused subs:
Caballero, Zabaleta, Clichy, Iheanacho, Bony, Demichelis

edit - and mangala injured
