I want to make clear I grew up watching us in 80's and 90's hiring and firing managers for fun, so I'll always err on side of giving a manager time, MP also won a double in first season which had never happened in my lifetime, but got to admit I'm finding watching us at the moment is getting me wound up, patience with our total lack of any tactical nouse is beginning to wear thin.

We are over-reliant on the same players now we were three seasons ago, when they "play well" so do we, know this is true for most teams but when you have injuries, especially to such important players as Kompany, you need to be able to play as a team, grind results out. For me we are a bunch of individuals, we are not greater than the sum of our parts as a team should be.

It's an odd season and I don't want to disregard the quality of opposing teams, but we are just so open, so naive without the ball, that when Silva or Toure don't carve teams open we are staring defeat in the face, without scoring a goal.

If we are scoring hat-ful of goals, like 2014, Arsenal home for example, can accept being wide open, we will outscore teams. When we aren't scoring goals, such as when Aguero out or regaining full fitness, two strikers out on loan, a striker who had malaria in the summer and a promising talent struggling to make the bench, we simply have to be harder to play against.

Maybe it is the players, maybe they are being lazy, not performing, not doing what the manager says etc. I just find myself watching us of late, especially away from home, thinking "what the effing hell have we been working on all week on the training ground?"

I therefore find myself asking what does MP bring to this team? Good football? Well of late it has been pedestrian, I also remember playing good football for Mancini when we were definitely better defensively. We can't honestly be saying that we need every single player fit to get results, all teams have injuries ans suspensions, what is the point of spending millions on a squad when we lose if Aguero, Silva, Toure and Kompany don't play well.

Anyway got it off my chest now, can't see any changes in management until end of season anyway, just wanted to have a moan and get rid of some of my frustration. Know people will always say do you not remember the bad old days, and of course I do, but I almost find it more annoying. We aren't bad old City anymore, we don't have players like Ged Brannan and Laurent Charvet, we have a team that SHOULD be winning trophies, especially as there is no stand-out prem team this season (should be us!), so will judge at end of season. League and league cup still there for taking, good chance of progessing in Europe too, I sincerely hope I'll look back at this post in May and think I was just having a hissy fit during a difficult period!

You are echoing what a number of posters on here said three years ago fella.
However they got hounded and laughed off the forum as it wasn't 'on message' and it didn't suit a small band of posters (most of which don't even go to the games) to say as much.
However the evidence is now indisputable - this manager has taken the team backwards.
God only knows what will happen if for some reason Pep does not arrive in June and we stuck with Pellegrini?

You never know. We could respond to this. Surely now the evidence is so strong that Pellegrini will be forced to make some obvious change. If we can see it, he must too

This is my fear. I don't think it's a done deal, and he's a wanted man. The project might look tainted if it's not in the Champions League

Marvin - just how many times does he have to see it before the penny drops?
If he hasn't seen it by now - and the evidence suggests he hasn't then he is not going to see it or he simply chooses to continue to ignore it.

Because 3 years ago he had just joined, any "fan" who has a downer on a manager when he has just started is frankly a bit of an arse imo.
You were right to be shouted down then if you were, you had no basis besides being a miserable so and so.

I will leave you with your doom and gloom mentality, good day.

Also what was your nick then as you obviously have a new username. That is if you say about 3 years ago on here yet joined this November gone.

As injuries and form stand...

ZABBA......SAGNA......OTAMENDI........KOLAROV
................FERNANDINHO...DELPH.....
NAVAS.............SILVA/KDB..............STERLING
...................AGUERO.................

posted a very similar team in the KDB thread, its the balance that is the key to our season

Navas is key to this season being a success or not.

His pace, work ethic and desire to keep stretching the play affords our handful of lazy players more time to recover.

Sterling also but Pellegrini doesn't see it or he does and Navas is the one he is that worried he might get fatigue or injured he's using him sparingly.
