I agree but as i alluded to earlier, he could win all 4 pots this year and make history but still be gone come the summer if the stars align and its that waiting for a certain individual that is not helping him, the team or us as fans right now imo.

I was so chuffed when he got a new deal pre season. I was posting on the Muen amongst other sites after our brilliant start (15 pts from 15) that hopefully when things got shaky again our fans would see sense...but as a club our fans just don't learn. We absolutely play right into other teams hands. One draw and a bad loss & we're back to the 90's....changing our manager...again. City need stability. I hope for MP's sake, City's sake and the fans sake we stick at it and by May we are rewarded with another 2 or 3 trophies.

The reality is would Spurs fans want Manuel? Would they fuck. Liverpool? Ditto. I am not even sure Leicester fans would want him. United fans bored with LVG's boring approach maybe. But I suspect they know Pellegrini would be all at sea with United's squad. Arsenal? Wenger out. Pellegrini in? Not a chance.

I think we all just have different thresholds before we say enough is enough about any manager. I was quite happy with Pellers appointment and thrilled to the way we played in that title winning season. But like bacteria adapting to anti-biotics, our opponents began to become resistant. Parked buses and athletic pressing have become de rigeur, and courtesy of the TV cash bonanza, nearly every team has better players than it did two years ago.
Pellegrini's response has been - on far too many occasions now - to stubbornly carry on trying to ram a square peg into a round hole. We've seen that Ya Ya in a midfield two mistake against opposition with 5 and even 6 men in midfield on more big occasions than you can shake a stick at

I agree with the Yaya point in a midfield two as its the exact same thing that's sticking in my craw right now and for the life of me i don't understand why he continues with that?

Yesterday was completely unforgivable as a performance from not just himself but also the majority of the players as well and ive said as much.

Going forward i think this will be his last season regardless as i think we will land Pep but will that suddenly end all our issues?

Not a chance as we are not as broken as many try to make out and Pep is not some God who doesn't lose games.

That God just doesn't exist.

So your happy with Willy as are only back up keeper, MDM & The Mangler in defence, Clichy and or Kolorov (take your pick) , etc etc. If we have such a strong squad, why are all these players getting shit on here today and nearly every other day? Gen question btw

Edit: We have the strongest first team when all are fit, but our strength in depth is very limited IMO

Not to mention going into a season with 2 strikers, one of whom always has a lay off during the season.

Someone posted a thread on here the other week about which other premier league players would get in our side and came up with only one which frankly was ridiculous. Lots agreed though.

Pellegrini's response has been - on far too many occasions now - to stubbornly carry on trying to ram a square peg into a round hole. We've seen that 'Ya Ya in a midfield two' mistake against opposition with 5 and even 6 men in midfield on more big occasions than you can shake a stick at and it has failed almost every single time, with the midfield overrun and the defence pulled all over the place like headless chickens. Even in games which we've won this season (Seville at home, Monchengladbach away and Newcastle at home), we've needed the best one on one shot stopper in the business to prevent us from being 3-0 down.
I admire your faith that MP will carry the day, but I for one think we're heading for another season of self inflicted disappointment. Yesterday's ineptitude was almost comical

It's a moments like this that I am filled with hope again. You know why.

A couple of questions that I think need to be answered when judging how well a manager has done/is doing

1) is he getting the best out of the players available?
I'd say not

2) Has he achieved anything that no-one else could have achieved given the same time and resource
Again, I'd say probably not

OK i get it, the new defence of the manager is that he's been dealt a poor deck. The squad is not good enough.

In FourTwoFour magazine Pellegrini was rated 35th best manager in the world this year. Now even allowing for journalistic error this in my view does mean that he is not amongst the elite. So whether our squad is great, good or poor, we can get a better manager than the current one. Not one of my mates who don't support City rate him at all. They do however rate Kun, Silva, Kompany, Hart, Zabba, Yaya, Fernandinho, Sterling and de Bruyne and reckon we are a shoe in for the league. Well they did til yesterday.
