I only have a few moments to ask questions to the City boss after games, and can only chip in once the national radio networks have kicked things off. They pay more money so have the right to do that.

The big question after the 4-1 defeat – and I’d seen many fans asking the same on Twitter – was why had Fernandinho and Otamendi not started against Liverpool?

My opening question was, “What was the reason Fernandinho didn’t start, he’s had such a good season?” Here was the answer from the City boss, “I don’t want to talk about who started and who didn’t start. Fernandinho was coming from a long journey from South America but it is not a problem for one day.”

I followed up with, “so you’re happy with the eleven you started with?” Manuel’s response was, “yes, yes, if you ask me, I would repeat with the same starting eleven”
That sums up all that is wrong with him.

You're all city supporters Pellegrini is City manager. You must agree he cannot win every game, although he would love to. Stop fuckin moaning and let him get on with the job. At the seasons end we haven't won anything then get on his back and apply for his job. Otherwise shut the fuck up and stop acting like spoiled brats.

I don't know but he makes the same mistakes over and over again

That's very convenient and you could be right...along with the hordes of Pellegrini out on here. Im wondering though...what if its the players who are making the same mistakes? Maybe they're not employing Manuels ideas. Could that be possible?

They were terrible yesterday but the manager gave them no chance to play well

If players are picked they have a chance to play well matey.

How can we play well when the manager picks a defence and midfield that looked like it did - the two CB, as bad as they were had little/no protection and the midfield of Yaya and Fernando never stood a chance against their midfield

Like I said, and I stand by it, the manager gave the players no chance yesterday

If all the players play badly, it's probably the manager

I'm not a Pelligrini 'outer' at all but he's making it very difficult for himself if he wants to stay

Well I don't think saying" yes it was that players fault" or " I wouldn't play him or him next time" is the answer either. Players are expensive and may be sold in the future so to put them down is stupid and would decrease their value.

Even a Michelin-starred chef needs to have the right ingredients to prepare the meal he needs to?

Sure, someone with such culinary talent might still be able to wing it and concoct something palatable.

But if he needed to make a soufflé and began at the outset with a tin of fucking Fray Bentos (steak and kidney, mind you) he would be on to a loser from the start.

That's what Pellegrini achieved prior and up to half-time, a dog's dinner of transport cafe quality.
