I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure Pelle was quoted that he was asked by the clubs hierarchy if he needed an extra striker but said he didn't.

He always says Sterling can play upfront, when it's pretty clear he can't.

You may well be right that Manuel did not want the extra striker. If so, Manuel was looking to have more experienced cover in midfield and defence and failing to give younger players a chance.

IMHO this failing is reflected throughout the Club with Ferran making in his end of last season review that younger players would have to wait for their chance.

I'm not talking about throwing lots of young players in - just giving those on the fringes some game time. Especially at a time when Manuel claims the first team is knackered!

Pellegrini is doing exactly what he is being told to do its that simple and it isnt gong to change.

At times, yes, I've no doubt we will have a few stinkers but im also sure that in the vast majority of games we will score a shit load of goals and win games, just like we have under Pellegrini.

Why do you persist in trying to change the topic of my posts. I have not been engaging in how Pellers sets the team up and whether he could do better with the squad etc. I am simply saying our squad is not as good as you and others would like us to believe. Simply saying "we have a good squad" isn't actually qualifying anything. Happy to have a debate over the strength and depth of the squad, but if I wanted to join in with the sack pellers debate, I would have done so yesterday.

Why so evasive and defensive?

Like with any debate the subject matter in question will probably evolve as both sides present evidence to support their viewpoint.

I asked you who do you believe has the strongest squad in the Premier League and after THREE attempts you replied probably Arsenal.

While I have begun to be completely disappointed by certain of his tactics and his stubborn nature regarding formations, I nm convinced we would have lost yesterday even if we had pep managing. Just one of those days.

Injuries, being effectively down to 10 late on, the conditions and playing away to a team that somehow also play well against us. If people think getting x manager means we never lose a game or play badly again, you are in for a surprise.

We average almost 3 goals a game under Pellegrini and this system.

No offence but I don't see what you're argument is? No one's saying pellers shouldn't play an attacking philosophy we're saying he should play an attacking philosophy/system suitable for our players. If we play 4231 we get overrun i.e against bin dippers therefore we should play a system/formation better suited for the players on the pitch whether it's 433 541 352 or whatever. These are the type of things managers should be looking into but no pellers will continue to play 4231 hoping our players will grind a result.

You seem to have taken great offence to a metaphorical comparison. . . Very touchy, indeed. Weirdly so.

He is all those things you listed and we're getting worse under him. So, I think the term 'poison' is apt. We're a squad of untold talents, crippled from the inside by an inept manager. So, again, I think poison is an apt metaphor. Metaphor. I'm sure he's a lovely person, but I'll stand by that metaphor.
