Pellegrini in unable to organise a defence shock. Hold the back pages. Sooner Pep gets here the better far as I'm concerned.

It's a travesty if he can't see that Komps and Mangala don't work together.

Maybe a Kompany and Denayer partnership will work. Denayer at least deserves a chance. As do Zuculini and Iheanacho, for that matter.

Does Pellers have the bottle to make the big decisions?

City need to start prioritising the football and not the brand. That's about the only lesson worth taking from today's match.

As far as I see it, Pellegrini will be gone and the end of the season so it's not worth getting worked up about.
Will be if we don't get top four pal. Not saying we won't but why hang on to him?

After two years of trying to find the answer to that most intricate of opposition plays aka 'the long hopeful punt upfield' it seems Pellers is no closer to a solution.

Has anyone actually checked Pellers took his coaching badges or did he just nod off when they moved on to 'Defensive Organisation'?

He wont last the season, the guys got nothing left in his locker. At some point we will need to step up a gear. It was obvious last season, but lets trundle on.

The last two seasons have seen Pellegrini stick rigidly to 442 and shoe horn players in to the system no matter how unsuitable.

When the appropriate players are fit and on form, great, we steam role teams. When they're not, and unsuitable players get shoe horned in, we looked diabolical.

He's clearly been instructed to move to 433 this season to make the transition easier for when Pep arrives.

Today looked like he'd carried on the same stubborness, just in a different shape. Evans, Silva and Nasri as a midfield 3. Did anyone expect anything other than going 4-0 down?

Similar story this season for me, if we can keep everyone fit and on form, we'll be superb. If he plays Evans Silva and Nasri in central midfield, and plays Navas who loves hugging the touchline, we'll be shite. It's pretty simple for me.

If we need to make adjustments, tweaks to suit the players available and adapt to what the opposition are doing, forget it, this manager just doesn't have it in his locker.

The question is ST is who are the three. The front three should be Silva, Kun and Raheem. Spain never, ever play David in a midfield three.

But who are the three. Presumambly Yaya is one.

It's a friendly but the truth is that it's been shambolic since Txiki and Ferran have arrived. Yes you could say FFP hampered us and you'd be right. But look at the amateurish transfer dealings, under Mancini our entire defence improved. Our player's in a number of case's have regressed. Now there's a strong chance we will have a season with Pellegrini being undermind by the Pep 's shadow. I cannot understand why either are still in a job. Glick and others have been the reason for increased revenue and Khaldoon has been dragged into virtually every contract negioation and transfer!

Good grief you have got it real bad

Tbf, it looked like the line up was 4-2-3-1 with Nasri and Evans as the CMs. It simply did not work and Nasri barely got into the match. However, with our lack of options I don't blame MP for trying it out.

Our strongest lineup would be Delph, Dinho and Yaya in the middle with a front three of Kun, Silva and Sterling. We would have plenty of energy and grit in the midfield. Something which we severely lacked today.

Pre season or not we've been raped by decent opposition twice and only beaten part timers

Go along with this, but that's not the problem it's the shambles at the back that needs sorting,on today's first half some defenders looked like they had never played the game before....

Pellegrini will probably be out by Christmas, because I just can't see us getting off to a flyer. Reckon it will be after the first International break, that we start playing as a team.

I am looking at this season as Pellegrini's swan song and I am sitting back and going to enjoy the ride.
What enjoy seeing a manager hang himself .
He's not bothered so why are we persisting with him .
Another day we got shafted .
Doesn't bode well for the new season .
Also the TV companies don't seem to be right bothered about us this season .

Pelle is in a strange position, Pep will get the gig next year and he knows it.

Serious question, does anyone think Pelle can organise a back 4 and defensive midfield? Only way we win the league is if we gun down the opposition.

It all falls down to the system and the work rate of the players.

Dinho and Delph will cover a lot more ground which will leave the defence less exposed.

However, someone needs to have a word with our CBs because aside from Demi, they are rash and lose their concentration.

I hate to big them up but the two best CB pairings in the PL were Vidic and Ferdinand and Terry and Carvalho and both of these partnerships had an aggressor and a reader in the defence.

At the min, it's only Demi who is the reader which is why our defence is a lot more assured with him in the side.

Kompany and Mangala together are a car crash waiting to happen. Neither covers the other and its as if they are having a race to the ball carrier. Unless this gets sorted we will be battling for 4th rather than the title.

Was always concerned this season would be a shambles, waiting for Guardiola was always going to risk a real downturn - seen nothing in pre-season to suggest those concerns were unfounded. Nothing.

Maybe we're just lulling everyone into a false sense of security though?

Should have got the bullet before the end of last season. Not sure how he's survived after last seasons underachievement but his time is fast running out. Even his most loyal followers are surely at the very least concerned at his inability to organise us into any kind of a cohesive unit. truth is we are so easy to get at now that we'll have to score 3 in every game to get anything.
