As promised the link to this mornings show.

Start at either 1:46:45 for the start of the conversation about Pellegrini or at 1:48:25 specifically for the Sabella conversation.

It seems quite informed and not a WUM.....

They aren't or at least we think they aren't. Txiki has said the first team coach can play whatever formation he wants. The only caveat is that a) he must be successful and b) it should be entertaining. Right now it is neither. The entertaining part has always been the goal as Gary Cook talked about it and how he wanted City to be the 'Harlem Globetrotters of football'. The City brand with City credit cards (and whatnot) and overseas clubs were also part of the Cook blueprint.

That said Ferran's latest missive where he talks about City not abandoning the high press/high line approach does seem to restrict any coach from having a totally free hand. I remember we discussed this early on in Peller's reign when there was a suspicion he was 'under orders' as we watched the defence get done by a simple long punt up the middle but Peller's did start to show signs of a more pragmatic approach when he shoved Garcia on to help protect a lead or played Sergio on his lonesome for some of the bigger matches. Peller's can be pragmatic its just that he doesn't seem to really want to do it that way and ever since the turn of the year when (imo) he knew he is off in the summer he has adopted a 'fuck it we are doing it my way' approach. Its not going well to be honest.
I've analysed every possible reason why MP would dogmatically stick to 442 when its obvious we've been found out. Its not too difficult to draw the conclusion as highlighted above, because the only other thing that would make sense is that he's lost the plot altogether. Either way, its City's fortunes that concern me and just like last weekend I fear we'll see the same 442 trotted out at Old Toilet on Sunday with a similar result to the one we suffered last Monday.

Someone needs to get a grip of MP & show him what everyone else can see before our season seriously turns into a CL qualifier/Europa League qualification only battle. How the fuck have we've allowed our season to come down to this beggars belief.

Heres my theory. A change to 4231 when the season is virtually over, if successful, would provoke an obvious question.
Very true, but either way can those around & above MP seriously just be sitting there watching our season unravel without one person telling him the opinion of all outside of the CFA?

If someone has said something yet he continues digging his heels in over 442 and putting square pegs in round holes, his stubborness will be the cause of him commiting professional suicide. He'll have no-one to blame but himself.

On the eve of a big Derby game, what a coincidence !

Exactly.

Am not saying City haven't considered him as an interim manager but sounds to me like Sabella is advertising that he is available to whoever is listening.

Well if they`re looking for a "stop gap" Manager why not try Paddy ??

Exactly. They have a track record of promoting a similarly inexperienced young coach from in charge of the second string in Guardiola at Barcelona. I suspected he might have been the man to replace Pellegrini if he were to be replaced for next season.

Thanks for the link to the MEN I hadn't seen that on here before. I think the BBC link only adds to the debate though none of it is absolute fact. Mainly speculation and hearsay.

Do you think it would be a good appointment?

BTW did I miss the joke?

MP is the perfect interim manager, can't believe we would hire someone with zip experience of this league when it's a must to finish top four . If they did hire Sabella and we failed top four then surely Txiki's head would be empaled on a spike outside the campus.

Makes you wonder though has MP told the powers that be that he wants out, just can't believe we would change manager at perhaps THE most important phase of our development so far.

'Strong rumours' being broadcasted in the middle of the night is what I was laughing at.

I don't care who we get for the iterim or if we stick with Pellegrini, so long as we get Pep for the long term.

I don't really understand all the talk about an 'interim' manager on here.

Apart from the fact that that there doesn't appear to be any credible reason to believe that Pep will ever arrive, let alone 2016, the suggested position is surely untenable.

The players know the guy is short term and they know that if they don't buy in to him, they just wait for the next guy.

The 'interim' is under no pressure whatsoever, (I know there will probably be financial benefits relating success but I'd guess he'd be remunerated handsomely in any case due to the short term nature of the role), if it all goes tits up, what are we going to do replace him with another interim?

Bollocks to 'waiting for Pep' , if that's what the club are actually doing, which I doubt.

Get a manager in place as soon as the season finishes that the club believe can take us forward for the next 3-4 years.

Re: Sabella - Strong Rumours - Link Page 3

Sabella will know on Tuesday? That's interesting. According to "Sport in a Storm" on News Now Khaldoon is in town
for tomorrow's derby and there is a board meeting scheduled for Monday, Didn't the Ancelotti reports say something
about a decision on his future would be made by Wednesday, the 15th April, as well? I'm not saying for one moment that
Sabella is coming or indeed that Pellegrini is definitely leaving but it sounds like decisions will be made this week.
