Klopp would of been a good start to the 'project' but not now. But if the choices were between Klopp, Benitez or Sabella then Klopp get's my vote.

Good point and agreed. I think Ancellotti is a far better fit for the type of club City are/will be even after the summer clearout.

Nevertheless, the idea of Klopp running a Dortmund-esque project backed with our financial resources is appealing. Might fit the "holistic" (ha ha) vision of sustainability/more academy players featuring in the team. One imagines a number of young and extremely athletic players playing his gegenpressing style but with a cadre of uber-stars like Aguero providing the magic moments and whatnot. He would probably need several years to really get that really sorted, though.

So that's a transition, and maybe/likely a step back, and one year in you would have the media vermin screaming Klopp the Flop and doubtless many on here wanting him immediately off and replaced by Pep (or Ancellotti, for that matter.)

It would be curious to know if upper management would commit to this. Interesting times and decisions ahead, if nothing else.

Glad to hear that Di Marzio has said we're still in for him. The prospect of him managing us really excites me, even if he isn't at the level of Pep or, arguable, Ancelotti. Could you imagine Klopp and Uwe as our management? Probably the most likable pair out there.

Cluster was not an option. No?
