Tonight shows why the club are so desperate for Pep. He and his team f*cked up last week and look at this response. A response with many of his best players injured. Breathtaking. He's the man to transform us into a truly elite side, but can we get him...?

Yet some think he's overated. If we got him, no club would stop us in England and we'd finally show up in Europe.

Whether Pep will ever manage City I have no idea. What this first half performance has highlighted is the absolute bankruptcy of Pellegrini's methods. We are miles away from the pace, drive and determination of this Bayern team.

I don't think he'd leave before his contract is up

I hope City are seriously contemplating Vieira. Klopp would be my No. 1 choice but I am sure Vieira would be a popular appointment too.

The one thing that will really bug me is if Klopp ends up at Spurs, Arsenal etc. I can see Wenger retiring if he wins the Cup Final. He's 65 now. It would be good timing

Ironically they're a team we tend to raise our game for.

Reckon Klopp is a done deal to go to City. Seems a strange coincidence that all the doubts came out over Pellegrini after the derby, and a few days later Klopp was announcing he's leaving Dortmund. Like a lot of people have said, the players look like they don't wanna play for Pellegrini, he's probably been a dead man walking since the Barca game.

True. Unfortunately when we play Burnley and Palace we drop down to their level.

Not to mention Sunderland.

Our rivals will piss themselves if we appoint Vieira. This fantasy he'd be the new Guardiola is just that IMO. For every 1 Guardiola, there will be 49 who can't reproduce the impact he had. Vieira's U21 team has noticeable flaws and is there anything that sets Vieira above other U21 coaches in the same league (other than being a famous footballer)? At least have Vieira go and get some experience at West Ham, Everton, Sunderland or somewhere. If we did appoint Vieira, it'd feels like we're trying to repeat what Barcelona did to the letter but the circumstances are so much different. This idea of doing everything 'from within' is at least 5 years too early IMO. Right now we should be trying to make our stamp on the world with a top tactician to get us into the latter stages of the Champions League.

Good post, it is slightly alarming
