Re: Discussion: Potential Pellegrini Replacements

You can't criticise managers based on one season and similarly cannot praise them. Atletico aren't doing anywhere near as well this season as last. They scraped past a very poor Leverkusen side and they've dropped to 4th in La Liga. Simeone is a great man manager and is a scrapper - he was as a player and he is as a manager. He sets up like Mourinho, to win ugly. Yes they play attractive football at times but that's against the sides any team would beat.

Klopp is a fantastic manager, is very likeable and connects with the fans and media. He'd be a positive asset for City and I think he would do well here. It's hard to tell whether he is good enough to be named as one of the best in Europe though... I think we need someone who has won the CL as our next manager. Ancelotti fits the bill, but I don't like his eyebrows and his domestic record is poor. Very poor.

Pep?! Think he's a twat to be honest. But he hates Mourinho so I'd have him here. I don't think we've got him lined up though by any means.

Frank Boer interested in city job

Ronald de Boer says his brother Frank would be interested in taking the Manchester City job - but only after 2016.

Manuel Pellegrini finds himself under pressure after City fell six points behind leaders Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League title race and were eliminated from the Champions League by Barcelona on Wednesday night.

The Chilean could be dismissed in the summer, with Ajax boss De Boer, Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti and Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone among those linked with the job.

De Boer, 44, has guided Ajax to four consecutive Eredivisie titles, though they are well behind PSV Eindhoven this season. And his brother Ronald believes he will soon be thinking about his future.

'Frank would be interested in managing Manchester City in the future,' he told talkSPORT.

'He's already said he will stay at Ajax until 2016. If Manchester City or Barcelona come for him he will stay.

'After that [2016], he is ready to take on a job like that.'

Tbh I was very disappointed with how Argentina played over the world cup. They did reach the finals but Sabella's tactics were pretty negative.

Thanks!

So, we have another candidate less...

Tbh I was very disappointed with how Argentina played over the world cup. They did reach the finals but Sabella's tactics were pretty negative.

The has an incredibly unbalanced team though, they had an amazing attack but a pretty average midfield and defence that had to be held together by Madcherano.

Aguero went into the World Cup injured and was never fit, Messi looked burnt out and Higuain was inconsistent so had those three turned up in Brzail all on form they would have been a more entertaining team to watch.

I actually thought Argentina were the better team in the final, they missed two sitters though and it cost them.

I wouldn't mind Sabella being one of the candidates, Diego Simeone rates him and was impressed with his tactics at the World Cup.

You are no mug if you win the Copa Libertadores, the likes of Simeone and Pellegrini couldn't win it and they were at bigger clubs than Sabella's Estudiantes.

He knows English football as well.

Sabella would be great.
And he already has the new lineup in mind:

Jorge Sampaoli

If he could speak English, definitely a consideration.

He will be in European football soon and I can see him impressing big time.

not a bad option

he did well with the chile national team and plays a high energy pressing game

i would not mind someone like marcelo bielsa who would come give lazy twats like nasri and yaya a kick up thier arses
