Disgraceful Journalism again by MUEN

The muen is the worst paper out there, worse than the mirror even. Wouldn't know the word independent if it kicked it up the arse. The rag of all rags.
I'd say its on par with the beano but that is supposed to be comical.

C.P.Scott must be turning in his grave at the demise of this once well respected paper.

It's owned by the mirror so their pro rag agenda is understandable but the paper is in danger of alienating a large chunk probably the largest chunk if it's readers of it carries on taking the approach it does.

Lets be totally honest, apart from Hart and hopefully Rodwell, could we find better players to cover the likes of Milner,Lescott,Barry,Richards and Sinclair ?
You have to say yes as all of those players were basically "bench warmers" under Mancini.

Were they?

Well lets have a look. All games this season = 52.
Milner. Starts = 25 = 48%
Lescott " = 23 = 44%
Barry " = 37 = 71%
Surely I don`t have to prove Sinclair ???? ;)
Richards, too many injuries, but I think Bobby would not have used him on a regular basis ahead of Zabs.
OK I hold my hand up ref Barry but the overall picture shows that our previous manager didn`t fully rate Milner or Lescott, but they were certainly good enough as "stand ins".

Where did you get these stats?
And could you include Nasri, Dzeko, Auguero, Tevez, Clichy, Kompany, Silva and Nastasic.

Hard to compare if there arent any players to compare with.

Anyone hear that turnip headed woman Graham Taylor's swipe at us on Five Live today?

Speaking about the U21 debacle he gave it the "too many foreigners" line then said that City wouldn't sign any English lads this summer.

Who could we get who would improve us? Maybe Wilshere but Ars don't need to sell or Bale who would be stupidly expensive.

After that it's just a case of prospects such as Byram, Shaw, Will Hughes and Ben Davies.

Bale is welsh !!

He is? Bo**ocks!

It's shit, worst than TalkSport for getting the Rag hits.

You've hit the nail on the head:
Media businesses make money by selling advertising.
Advertisers pay more the bigger the audience.
The Rags have over 693 million fans in Manchester alone.
the MEN writes utter bollox that appeals to them (or gets City fans all angry so it gets even more press)

just laugh at it - it's so ridiculous it's funny

Milner only started 25 games out of a possible 52.Hardly a "regular" don`t you agree, less than 50% !! .If you read my post I did hold my hand up about Barry. All the others didn`t fair well, not even Lescott.
By the way,I am a fan of all said 5 players. However I tend to agree with the originator of the article ref the English lads possibly being left behind in trying to get into the starting eleven.

I found that my life became more enjoyable when I stopped reading the so called "newspapers".

We can all see the nonsense they spout forth on football. I believe it to be the same with all other topics too.

As a simple man who is new to this forum I believe that our owners are highly capable people who have put a great deal of thought into the ownership of our beloved club and have not made such a huge investment on a whim.

I am pretty sure that the massive new academy plays a huge part in those thoughts and will, in due course, produce a line of new, young star players. Some of these will be English.

I guess many of them will be sold on to help the overall business plan but assume, in my naivety, that our beloved squad will have first pick.

In the mean time we will continue to buy ready made stars from wherever in order to win more prizes and present a better option to youngsters than our "rivals".

I believe my friends... I believe.

I beg you all to do the same.

It's worth pointing out that the outfield player that started the most games for us was Yaya with 42 (80.7%)

Barry started 5 less than Yaya, but was injured at the start of the season (his first game was our fifth). Only Hart, Yaya, Tevez and Zabs started more than he did.

Milner also had the odd injury and suspension during the season and I would have him down as pretty much a regular by the end of the season. FWIW he started 26 games out of the 52 so as many starts as not.

Lescott wasn't a regular but still got plenty of games.

Richards was injured, but started 31 matches under Mancini the season before.

I'll give you Sinclair, but he's the only one I'd consider a bench warmer

I did acknowledge that I`d fucked up with the Barry case, moomba. However the overall case that I`m trying to put forward is that Lescott was out due to the emergence of Nasty.Sorry but Milners best run under Bobby was only 7 successive games and lets be honest if we do sign a couple more Spaniards both him and Barry will be under severe pressure to start.
Honest mate I love all the English guys but I don`t see them as starters in most games, but hell we need them as good back ups and obviously for our home grown/English quota.I see Zaba well ahead of Richards but thats a great problem to have
