Disillusioned with Football £££

Not so much the football is putting me off but more so how the game is covered. Especially the god awful TV coverage, with the woke panels and so called banter it is just totally unwatchable, truly hate how the game is covered. Its looks like it has been devised by people who dont understand the game or even like it but feel a need to force it upon football fans.
Bang on. However, once the nutters wake up you'll get slaughtered for it.

Interesting video that raises some points, warning it might trigger a few because it's not too flattering on City.

I never understand this “money is ruining football” shite. Usually spouted by rags who cant deal with not being top dogs any more and bail out of being rags and start watching teams like county. I know a good few.
They give the reason that the prem has been ruined by money but what they really mean is “i cant deal with us not being the best anymore, being way behind city isnt what i signed up for so im going to jump ship, use that as an excuse, and jump on the county band wagon because they are doing ok”

Money has always been at the fore front of football.
Was it blackburn in the late 1800s who started paying players and turning the game pro?
Arenal in the 20s (or 30s, id have to check) poaching the top team of the decade, huddersfield, manager herbert chapman and half their team to become the top team themselves.

To Everton in the 50s and 60s being known as The Millionaires due to their funding by the moores family/littlewoods pools and then 2nd division liverpool who were funded by the same family to make them as big as everton. And subsequently dominating for 20 years.

To brian clough lauded as a genius (which he prob was) but conviniently forgetting he smashed several transfer records and bought the first million pound player.

To united, liverpool, arsenal, spurs abolishing the 25% cut of attendances to the away team to ensure the bigger teams with the bigger crowds made more money.

To united going PLC and effectively going into partnership with the prem and dominating for 20 years. Buying who they wanted.

To good old jack walker making dreams come true at blackburn. White man walker , so different to our nasty arab oil money.
Same with hollywood star ryan renolds funding wrexham and the class of 92 funding salford!

And that was just a few examples. So if the money in football bothers you, then football probably isnt the sport for you.
Brilliant post, well thought out.

People will always complain about the money and always have throughout every era. If the game is generating those sums I want to see it circulate and spent because its taxed along the way. The more that's generated and spent by the English league and by city the better. Like any other industry within the country. Can't do anything about the Saudi league and there choices but when the players return to whatever country they land in they will bring that cash with them. Would agree a lot of fans problems is the perception there clubs can't spend as much as others which is not new just the teams with the deeper pockets has shifted and some can't take it.

Just seen Mane getting a contract for 650k a week. Who could blame these footballers so late in their lives. They can retire early and never think about money again. The fear is while they’re attracting retirees for the most part it won’t be long before the young heads are turned and we might see a little exodus of some of the worlds best youngsters. Unlikely but money talks and it can be a short career.
Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if Pep might be tempted to go over there at some point He’ll love the challenge of turning the Saudi league into a better standard.

You can see the Saudis offering Pep
£10 million a week whilst they rip off the poor pilgrims from third world countries who can barely afford to put food on their plates. There is no moral compass to the Saudis exploits.
