This bloke 'Goater 78'.............. There's always one numpty who doesnt see the big picture. What was your life like before Viagogo came into it ? How did you cope ?

I have a season ticket so don't need to buy from it. I go to every game so don't need to sell on it either.

However it strikes me as a sensible way of selling on season tickets matches for games you can't make.

The big picture is it helps to fill the stadium. If you don't agree with it don't use it. The people selling on it aren't touts as they are season ticket holders and you can only sell a small number of games. With the price of season tickets being so high I don't begrudge them receiving some money back on game they can't make.

People just like to have something to complain about. As we've no football on at the moment people are trying to find something else to have a moan about!

Fucks sake I despair! If you cant make a game you GIVE your ticket to a mate/workmate/anyone who wants to go and watch the Blues, thats how its always worked for EVERYONE I know. The whole viago thing stinks to high heaven and anyone who cant see that or thinks its great is a complete twat and will NEVER be a proper Blue....or/and has no mates!

YOU EITHER GO OR YOUR FORTUNATE MATE DOES.

So people who sell their season ticket to an odd game on viagogo aren't a proper blue? It's these sort of idiotic statements that annoys me.

You have no idea of their personal situation eg they could live in London and travel up to every game. A fan in Manchester can give it away but when you live 300 miles away its harder to find someone who wants to take it!

It's all electronic now, a couple of clicks of the mouse and if it isn't needed anymore a ticket can be given back to MCFC and MCFC can refund the fan and make it available to another one in no time.

No need for viagogo at all.

But then if it isn't bought the club lose out, not going to work.

every home game till the last 2 was sold out weeks before last season can't see them not being sold on as a problem here.

The rags have that system for season ticket holders who get banned for smoking etc sell seat on next day as it's classed as available during ban. a **** trick on their part but shows that it can be done.
If you could let ticket office that you are unable to attend they free your seat and reimburse you of at least give you voucher to use in shop or something

But some people find out they can't make the game day before or two days before, there was plenty of tickets on Viagogo for face value last season that didnt sell, and more to the point plenty of tickets on bluemoon considerably cheaper than FV that didnt shift.

Sorry but I haven't read through the topic . Just wanted to ask, do you still need to be s member to buy from viagogo ?. Or can anyone just log on and buy tickets ?.

I have had my season ticket since 1974, had a break whilst having a family and living in Europe and in recent years commuted from Durham to Eastlands with my son.

Also did went to every Wembley match in recent years, including a 2 day trip for the Chelsea Semi last season.

I live in Middle East now so what should I do?

We give the tickets to mates who want to go and happily also would give the seat to a charity if the facility existed . I get to some matches but have to pick and choose as I now have a 7 hour flight to get to Manchester.

Viagogo allows me to get some of my season card cash back and avoid my seat being empty and at least you know it is a blue buying my ticket and not a tout.

If there is no in house alternative should I just give up my season card and get in the queue when we return to the UK? I suggest those against it live locally so can easily pass tickets back and forwards between mates which is fine. I have been a City fan for 41 years now.

Criticism welcome.

I believe if you use viagogo you're not a proper blue. You should be ashamed of yourself :-)

Apparently, you're a complete twat and will NEVER be a proper Blue!

Thanks Caveman, you clearly are! Suggest we can swap stories of Shrewsbury away in FA Cup in the seventies , or Wolves away on freezing cold mid week nights.

True blue must need season ticket for 50 years plus and have been to every away match for the last 60 years

P.s. I went to Dortmund Away last season , does that help my (lost) cause?

Only one person said that and he is wrong, as previously said use it or don't doesn't make you less of a fan the issue is not about having a system to sell on or exchange your ticket if you can't make it, it's that viagogo are glorified touts (charging £7000 for wimbledon final ticket that cost £130)

As for Durham Blue2 my mate has a different but similar situation as he has come into some financial difficulty and so has had to choose to give up his season ticket he's had for 20 odd yrs temporarily, he went to see the ticket office explained the situation and they have sorted out a blue membership with all his points and have left his season card seat open for 3 years so he has time to go back to it believe seat will be sold as a match day ticket for now

Wimbledon final tickets don't cost £30. Plus the prices of the tickets are set not by viagogo but by the person selling the ticket. Viagogo is simply a conduit to sell tickets.

The club caps all sales on viagogo to 50% of the price which prevents games being sold for ridiculous amounts of money.

And if you can't get rid of it? Don't see the issue with using it instead of the seat being empty

why don't the club do the selling of the ticket, someone carnt get to a game, gives city the ticket, the card holder gets his money what he pays for the game, city sells ticket for lets say £10 extra so they make a few bob out of it and who ever buys ticket will save a few pounds

eg season ticket holder pays £25
club charges £35
person buying ticket saves £10 depending on game

Because no one would buy tickets at full price if they knew they could save a tenner by buying off the City Ticket Exchange

there might only be a couple of hundred tickets to sell from season card holders, when they have been sold, put the rest up
