Do Aliens actually exist ?

As I said in the Christmas songs thread, we’ve been mapping, following, celebrating and worshipping the cosmos and the seasons for thousands of years in Britain and other parts of Northern Europe.

I have read snippets and articles of all sorts of things like the MvM debate you mentioned but never a full book.

I should delve deeper. I would go from maximalists to minimalists to mythicists though, as I think there is much credibility in the myth theory. Whether that myth is of Jesus not existing or just that his story is a myth, I’ve not made my mind up about yet, and maybe never will. But I’m convinced his story is just a personification story of the Sun, just like all the others, even if he did exist.

I can’t recall specifics, I watched it a while ago but I do believe it mentions Mithras and how the story of Christ copied it, when in reality Mithras came many years after Jesus and was in fact, copying His story.

I just felt the whole film was disingenuous and conspiracy led garbage, a little bordering on the types of conspiracies that lead to antisemitism towards the end.

You’re right about Paganism and other beliefs in Northern Europe and celebrating in winter.

There’s one idea within Maximalism that the story wasn’t a myth because why would those wanting to this great story have the protagonist so humiliated and brutally killed.

Quite an interesting concept.

Anyway, back to aliens, The US Government releasing this files this year was nothing more than Covid distraction imo.

Elon Musk often talks about some crazy tech being built 'out of sight' (lightening fast robots for starters), but leads me think if some of this flying tech the Air Forces are seeing around the world (and, allegedly, at nuclear sites) wouldn't he do his level best to find out instead of building relatively archaic rockets?
That falls under secret elements of the military hiding stuff and I've no idea how good that are at this type of thing.

The F117 was operational for 10 years before being officially acknowledged.

There have been lots of weird experimental aircraft over the years. (Avro Canada VZ-9 Avrocar - Wikipedia)

I wouldn't be surprised if it weren't a normal aircraft with some sort of experimental visual EM wavelength stealth technology (cloaking device).

I mean that’s literally a flying saucer (and from the 1950’s too).

intersting stuff. I’d imagine there has to be some military tech around this.
Fun to speculate though and you can understand why it’s such a big industry.

The technology has been public domain for a couple of years at least, so it wouldn't be a surprise.

I was a student in Brighton in the late 70's and early 80's and Mithras House was a centre of our learning. I never thought anything of it until, a few years ago, I walked the Hadrians Wall Path in Northumberland and beyond, and came accross a small shrine to Mithras.

Apparantly, they killed cattle as an offering to their Gods.

That is all.
