Do we play good football?

We played good football at the beginning of the season, we broke with pace and attacked the box, got goals and won games.
Now we break with pace still but 9 times out of 19 it then comes back, allowing opposition to get players back.
Absolutely, I just do not understand that either. It's like - we got the ball, now let's piss it about at the back and wait for the opposition to get into their places so we can do it how we practice it on the training pitch.

Ffs surely Pep is better than that! He must be able to see it is wasting time and makes us look insipid, something the opposition quite enjoy taking the piss out of.

We lack the full backs to attack the way Pep wants too, Barca used their full backs to open teams up. Clichy and Navas are both quick and mobile but they couldn’t deliver a letter.
Zaba and Kolarov have great delivery but age is getting to them.

Also we don’t have strength in depth because of injuries to some and lack of quality with others so we are using the same players week in week out and they are starting to look jaded. And that’s not just us Liverpool look very leggy at the moment, so do United and Arsenal.

This summer we need to get the full back area sorted, I know we all know that, but it will help playing against very defensive teams. If possible add to the midfield with a quality option such as Bernado Silva

I said a few weeks back that I don't actually find us that good to watch. I think we're boring, and predictable, very much like last season. I'm sure next season will be better.
What? We tear teams apart creating numerous chances every game. If we could finish, you wouldn't say that.

We need to walk the ball into the net. Teams such as Spurs shoot on site, and many times from outside the box. We think about it, not positive, so pass it on. eventually we loose the ball or have a poor shot without the required pace, because we are striking a static ball.

For me this season been even worse than last and even though I wanted pellegrini out, the football doesn't even come close to that which we played in his first season. Want pep to be a success, but continually picking Clichy at left back, buying bravo and looking to force Aguero out does leave me a bit worried. Same with yaya who has been our best CM since his return. How do we replace him because Fernandinho looks like he has totally gone and none of the others good enough.
Horrid post. firstly, Kolarov is a JOKE at left back, everyone will back that up. Don't act like you could have seen the downfall in Bravo's performances, his CV was unrivaled in this league and had a great season at Barca previous to this. He's continually said to Aguero&Media that he wants him to stay, even though Aguero limits our performances significantly. Finally, how can you blame the demise in performance of 31/33 year olds on Pep. You said same with Yaya, presuming you know Pep's getting rid of these players. Incredible

Firstly Kolarov does have his faults. But his ability to cross and pass a ball will always make him a better option than the inept Clichy. In terms of bravo I rarely saw him play so had no view either way. But I find it hard to believe that he was pulling off save after save in la liga based on his pathetic save rate for city.

And in terms of Aguero limiting our performance I'm genuinely shocked. 30 goals already on this season and a goal rate in the premier league as good as anyone ever. How son some forget hey.

For yaya he was stubborn enough to drop him for his agent spouting shite. He said he would be sidelined until his agent apologised. Can you show me the agent apology. Yaya has been much better than Fernandinho this season, but was again discarded by Pep for a month durImg big games v Monaco, Liverpool and Arsenal. Then brought back and our best player again versus Arsenal in cup semi. Pep made lots of mistakes this season. I want him to succeed, but wake up and smell the coffee. Last season khaldoon indicated it wasn't the best of seasons. This has been our worst.

Clichy hasn't had a good season I agree and he breaks up a lot of attacks(I'd rather have him do that than give the ball away at a horrible position to do it though... which has happened when he's trying too hard and it's led to conceding on more than one occasion), I agree I'd rather have Kolarov playing since Clichy has been just as vulnerable going the other way this season but how many games at left back is safe for us to play him? Even when fully fit he can get beat scarily easy at times, When he's leggy?...

Yaya was the one who apologised, nobody expected the twat of an agent to apologise(it was a call for Yaya to take control of the situation), you show me where he specifically said it was his agent who needed apologise. Also there's been games where people have been dead certain Yaya would make the difference, he comes on and nothing at all has changed or he plays the next game and we've been worse than the previous game... when he's on his game he can make a difference but he's not always on his game and he's not the magic bullet.

Also Fernandinho was contender for player of the season the previous 2 seasons, arse from elbow springs to my mind with the people coming out with "I don't get why people always said he's underrated" this season. He was actually one of our best in the first half of the season are people already forgetting the kind of performances that led to Pep saying if he had a team full of Dinho's he'd win the CL, second half of the season he has faded which could be down to a number of factors: The ref attention he's been getting; the 2 reds he received in the league were his own doing but had the ref vs Chelsea been competent none of the drama happens that led Aguero's sending off and the aftermath. As a result of the first red he came back trying too hard to make amens and dived in to challenge not needing to. Only a few games before that he'd been sent off vs Borussia Mönchengladbach which was a complete ref blunder rather than his own doing, by the time he was sent off vs Burnley that was 3 in 6 games. Another reason could be that he was being asked to switch position in a team that is always changing in system he's still learning, another reason could be the amount of running we ask of him maybe catching up with him this season we need more rotation in certain positions and we've not really been able to do it without it costing us.

As for the dramatic "worst season ever" claims you're entitled to your opinion but I disagree it's been a very mixed bag(from pure bliss to utter frustration) between beating Barca and some of the best performances I've seen City play(yep... better than anything under Pellers or Mancini but just not getting close to repeating that kind of form nearly enough), we've also already equalled our final points tally from last year with 3 home games left to play.

Chelsea are 31 points better off than last season with 4 games to go.
Spurs are 7 points better off than last season with 4 games to go.
Liverpool are 9 points better off than last season with 3 games to go.

All the three above clubs didn't spend anything like we did in the transfer window.

We beat Barca at home, we also have beaten Bayern home and away in the past two seasons and reached a semi final .

It's been a fucking poor season , don't dress it up as being something special when it isn't.

Eh???? You do realise they have ALL had better seasons than last, you clearly didn't think that through.

I said it's been a mixed bag I never said it's been "something special" but I will say it again some of the football has been better than anything under Pellegrini or Mancini no doubt about it we just haven't seen it enough. It has been frustrating(being the better team and not winning especially) I'm just not being fanny wipe about it like some here, so many fucking drama queens who weren't ready for transitional season. Also the Barca performances were far better than any of the Bayern ones(how can you even compare those performances?... forget the results Bayern seemed happy in first gear because they could afford to do that), in fact we've been far better in CL this season we just came up against a very good attacking team in Monaco whilst having a suspect defence which is the fault of previous transfer windows. We were going through until our shoddy defence left two players free in the middle from a freekick that we didn't need to give away, imagine if we had showed up in the first half? Suppose you think that's Pep's fault too that our players did the exact thing he'd been warning against in all his press conferences leading up to that fixture.

Funny that those two performances v Bayern were against Peps Bayern , we beat a very good PSG side last year and reached the semis .
Did you forget the thrashing off Barca away this campaign ? Fair do's if you thing it's been good ,the evidence proves otherwise.
