How sad. You used to be able to have an intelligent debate on here.

my heart bleeds for you.

LOL the brick wall's back.

I'm asking the question about the relevance of supporters clubs in the modern communication age. So instead of doing an impersonation of a third rate politician why don't you, with your long experience of the Supporters Club, give me a worthwhile, well-argued and reasoned rationale for the existence of supporters clubs answer instead of (yet again) trying to deflect the argument or put words in my mouth that I never said?

Probably more than the number of OSC members that go to more than a couple of games a season.
If people are happy joining them who are we to object
I was being a bit naughty yesterday and apologise if I offended you. I have a lot of respect for people that voluntarily give their time up to run clubs and groups and I know you did plenty.

I don't object in the slightest and appreciate that some people like being part of a supporters club. I've had some good nights at P&W on the occasions I'm in Manchester. I know that people like seeing players but all you usually get from current players is the club-sanctioned PR. I saw the Goat at P&W and he had some interesting things to say but he wouldn't have said those things if he'd been a current player.

The question I was really asking is do we NEED an OSC in this day and age. My downer on the OSC stems from the fact that they never said anything when the club was being badly run as long as they got tickets and other help from the club. If you represent fans and those fans aren't happy then I think you should make that clear to the club rather than playing dumb.

Perhaps the OSC needs to come into the 21st Century a bit and be more modern & relevant in its outlook.

It needs to be updated in structure and stature, importance and relevance and I am sure it will be.

Do I expect the OSC to be on the list of things to be vastly improved? Yes

Do I think that the board expects more from an 'Official' sanctioned SC? Yes

Would I expect this to have been the reason for the 2 organizations to have recently been merged? Yes

Would there be value in an OSC bar or meeting place in the new site/stadium developments to help give it gravitas and meaning? Yes

Just a few thoughts for you to consider there.........

there was a meeting place inside the ground for the past 2 season and up over the club shop befor then

they are going to use upstairs in mary d's this season

Perhaps something more official for the OSC would be better?

Not criticising anyone by saying that but it might be.

it maybe like that for branches in and around the manchester area but for branches futher afield and overseas its more than a ticket office

Then i'm all for that... but still, i'd rather OSC's didn't get tickets... as mentioned in the other thread. I wouldn't charge to be a member either.

Exactly. Now, for the third time of asking what happens to the money the OSC charge for their annual membership?

Yes.
Good for blues who are not fortunate
enough to make their living in M/cr.
I'm not a member of one so it's not self interest.

Bank accounts are both healthy supporters club and travel club not being able to recall figures exactly from last meeting i attended (held every 2 weeks at ground) but definatley not millions or even hundreds of thousands and its all very transparent with the last £5 accounted for and even discussed at legnth

If, and I do mean if, he was dishing out tickets in the wrong manner do you seriously expect him to admit it on Bluemoon? So no, no matter what he said it wouldn't put it to bed, Don.

By the way mrksdawn19, just using you as an example to prove a point, I'm not implying you are doing anything wrong, so I hope you dont take it personally.

I don't unerstand... how do you still not get it?

He's the Chairman of one branch, how can he or anyone else speak for all OSC's?

There's people on here that have already admitted to getting tickets through the OSC without the required points... its already been shown to be going on so its already been confirmed and 'put to bed'.

We are an official branch
we do not have many members, and as we are based down south not that many regularly travel up north for games
I am an ex season ticket holder, with 5000 points and went to Barcelona last year and Dortmund this year. I also drove to Manchester the day after getting back from Dortmund for the Valencia game
No tickets got through the Kent branch are ever used for anyone other than members of the Kent branch.
Most tickets obtained for Kent branch members are for London games, but more than anything the Kent branch is there for people to view matches on the TV in a local pub and chew the fat
