Do you look after your body?

Don’t smoke, cutting down drink, body fat percentage down 2 years on run, oxygen chamber treatment, swim, boxing training once a week, grounding, saunas, minimising stress, taking good quality vitamins and educating self on diet weekly. I am trying hard to be in good shape as I approach 50.

I'm not talking about going to the gym five times a week :)

Just simple things like not smoking, not eating crap, going for a nice brisk walk a couple of times a day etc.

I'm addicted to Chocolate and I love a good meat and potato, chips, peas and gravy in a chippy.

However, I have had enough, as from today it stops,

(I've been saying that for the last three years lol!)

Any tips?

I have a nice treadmill and exercise bike, I'll have to take the dust sheets off.
Chocolate and a chips are ok in moderation.

We all know what we eat and drink is bad for instead of having to much try to alter your habits even sometimes having the odd day or two cutting back.

Suprised a few saying they’ve completely given up on sugar - do you mean just chocolate/sweets ? As there is lots of sugar in most Breads, Milk, Cereal, Yogurts, Sauces & dressings prob loads more.

I eat pretty much pure meat. No bread, pasta, rice, carbs generally. I have lettuce, spinach, leeks, peas with my meat.

Don't smoke, eat really healthy , exercise 6/7 times a week plus walk my dog every day for around 90 minutes but I definitely drink more than I should, so not that great.

They probably just mean they're not 'purposely adding sugar' to whatever they're drinking, or eating ..... in much the same way that i try to do with salt ..... but, as you say, most foods will already contain one or the other.

You can't really win though .... I've recently started adding honey to tea and coffee instead of using sugar or sweeteners, and then, just as I'm starting to feel a bit better about myself, i go and read that honey is laden with sugar, lol!

Turn 50 next year, I clean eat 6 times a week, at least 4/5 gym sessions all at 5:15am as its the only time I can fit it into the day. Try read. At least 15 pages of a book a day and 10 mins of mindfulness. I honestly feel great about life and have wuality time with the family.

One tip is avoid all the “protein” shit in supermarkets, they are full of crap and sugar.

When I reffed I would ref 3/4 games a week and do 2 hours at the gym every day I didn't have a game. Had to pass a fitness test once a year, no problem. Whilst I was still involved I used to have regular health and eyesight checks and always was fine. Don't drink or smoke but my eating habits leave a lot to be desired.
Then about 8 years ago tore the meniscus in my right knee. After I had the operation the physio came in and did his checks and said everything was fine. As I was getting changed a nurse came in and told me I wasn't going anywhere. Whilst I had been out my blood pressure and heart rate had gone through the roof.
Since that operation I have suffered from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, neither of which I had before. Also about a month later diagnosed diabetic.
Makes me wonder why I ever bothered keeping fit all those years.
