So Brexit would mean a high wage economy until you ask for a higher wage? The Tories fuck up the economy, then go for Brexit to kill it, inflation rises, the economy suffers a lack of workers in key industries, workers are asked to accept a wage rise that means a cut, even if you get 5% you are 5% down in a cost of living crises created by those bastards and when you go on strike it’s your fault? Fuck off you Tory useless bastards.
AmenIf the fucking media didn't peddle the narrative that the unions are bad, ruining Xmas etc etc, we might get more support. The public are being duped. And they themselves get lulled into a sense of futility and acceptance of lower pay and worse conditions, whilst the companies maintain their profit-margins and the bosses get their bonuses.
You’re covering people striking? They are supposed to be in solidarity with the workers. Christmas will be a make or break for many, whether it be for the business they work in or for getting home last minute because they have to work until then because they have no choice.
PS. For perspective, I won’t be using trains to get home, I’ll be using my car (which I’m lucky to be able to run, unlike many). I will, most probably, be working elsewhere, covering for those who are striking in public service. However, if the opportunity comes, I will want to get into Manchester with my better half to meet up with old friends and spend a bit of money on Christmas Eve.
IMO, striking on such dates is a loser all around and that attitude will lose me as a supporter of what you are trying to achieve. Strike on another day(s), Mick lashing out like this has not been his finest day.
You work several hours unpaid? And you accept that? I’d join a union and seek better conditions.Whilst I agree with a lot of RMT they have to be also realistic, and I think they are losing some public sympathy now. However I hope they get what they want eventually.
Most people are not getting pay rises, cost of living help or assistance from their employers. Most also don't have a trade union to help them. I have no increase no for over 2 years, I have to work several hours unpaid and I have 2 jobs. I have lots of gripes but I have to get on with it otherwise I would lose my job. I've always accepted this and sucked it up, others are the same. It seems the pandemic has made a lot of people bone idle.
That was government advice recently, wasn't it? If you're hard up, get a better job.You work several hours unpaid? And you accept that? I’d join a union and seek better conditions.
