Pellegrini obviously rates him as a CB or feels he could do a job there, why else would he constantly be playing him there? Mancini even played him there, there was even calls for it on here before he signed that he could play there if needed.
If we went into the season with Garcia as our option at CB if our starting pair got injured, and Aleks as the back up LB if Clichy got injured we'd be up shit creek, so I'd hope by that stage we wouldn't have to "suck it up" but instead get it sorted out now.
Your initial point didn't involve "splashing the cash" btw rather just the idea of dealing with what you have given the situation, which is why I brought Garcia into it as he is all we have in terms of CB cover but I know not everyone would be happy to "suck it up" and play him there if needed.
Like I said in MY initial post, before you only quoted parts of it;
I'd think lesser teams are more inclined to think "lets bomb down the right" when Aleks is playing rather than cower at the thought of his first time, barely beats the first man, crosses

My initial point was that no we don't need to buy another left back if Clichy were injured. I'll add that that would obviously change if it was long term, but not because we may have to play a big team like the other poster suggested.

So if we're buying a CB to avoid any Garcia mishaps, must have missed your ITK status btw, why is it so wrong for people to want a replacement for Aleks?
Also, you need to let you personal grudges go btw Jumanji lol it's an internet forum. I know you don't like me, for whatever reason, but i have no problem having a discussion with you, unfortunately you don't share the same maturity.
