"Manchester United flexing their muscles once more" BBC SPORT
"For United, it was a win they deserved and illustrated that City still have some way to go to achieve boss Hughes' stated aim of knocking their rivals "off their perch"." BBC SPORT
"It was a moment of classic United" Guardian
"Man of the match: Darren Fletcher. Two goals and an all-round superb performance. Closely followed by Ryan Giggs on his second half showing." SSN (Note lack of references to Bellamy)
"Michael Owen, United's free transfer replacement for Carlos Tevez, seals victory at Old Trafford with goal in the 96th minute" Telegraph (Note the insinuation that baconface is genius in the transfer market, he doesn't need city's billions, he can get the best for free.)
"The only surprise was that the home supporters chose not to sing another terrace favourite, “That’s why we’re championsâ€, for this truly was the stuff of champions." Telegraph (could this one possibly be any more offensive to city fans?)
Is it just me or is everyone else sick and tired of these sly digs and media arselicking of the rags? I just hate their arrogant, know-all tone, as if they knew from before kick-off that anything other than a rag triumph was inevitable, surely the reigning champions of english football would overcome their rich but talentless rivals and teach them a footballing lesson, blah blah blah. It's a disgrace and I can't believe these idiots get the kind of attention they do. If they really had any knowledge of football, they'd be managing a team rather than just blatantly sucking up to whoever is winning at the moment (and the rags even when they aren't). I can't believe my license fee pays for these idiots at the BBC especially. I'm so angry!
