This is the one bad apple that City hv to live with. Tells u again that the transfer window belongs to the player, not the Club, or the coach. If a player wants to go, he WILL leave. Similarly, if he wants to stay put, he WILL. Nothing a manager or club mgmt can do, as often the club has more to lose, and a contract to contend with. Luckily, we hv enough resources to absorb his wage bill for one more year. I expect him to play 5-10 games at most this year - a classic money leach if ever there was one! There are ppl who still like to claim Pep sold Yaya at Barca against his wishes. Not at all. It is true Busi was more intelligent and suited to Pep's game than Yaya. But Yaya was swayed by the big money (in this case, sorry to say, our money), so he left, rather than stay and fight for a spot at Barcelona. ok - we got to see yaya's talent flourish here and I will always consider him an elite talent. However, the bigger picture i wanted to point out in both instances, it was the player's whim and yaya is the last person to think for the good of the squad or club. I have not even spoken about his godfather, best friend, agent yet!! Lets not even go there.
Such players tell u why one should be skeptical of according legend status at a club, coz many a times, the motivation the player has, has nothing to do with affinity for the club, fans or club's spirit!
