Does Yaya still have a role?

Yaya can still play well when he wants to.
Nowadays, he only seems to want to if he's the star man on a big stage.
In those big games, City line up better with Yaya on the bench and coming on as a sub
City do need him to perform well for games like last night.
Those are exactly the games he doesn't care about any more.

How do you resolve that? Yaya doesn't want to perform the role we need from him, and was godawful yesterday. Only a few matches to go, but it's not how I want to remember him.

He can't play with Fernando and Delphino.
Played forward and with mobile and intelligent support he'd still be an asset.

But its either him or de Bruyne in that role, isn't it? And de Bruyne is going to get the big games, and Yaya won't bother if he's second string.

Against Chelsea, Yaya was really inspirational, last night against Newcastle he made so many bad decisions as to be damned annoying. MP should have taken him off a lot earlier and put Fernandinho on as he brought more directness when he came on. Or alternately taken Navas off and moved Yaya forward.

Blah blah blah used to be great. Blah blah blah time to go.

Might as well just keep copying and pasting that.

Sure - but even if there are only a handful of games left before he goes, he's still getting 200k a week. Last night certainly wasn't worth the price of your average house.

Now a passenger and potentially a liability. Played with his head down again last night as he did against Chelsea. He's not arsed and IMO he should be kept as far away from the first XI as possible. Stank the place out.

People can bang on all day about whether we should keep him or not but the sheer fact that he only plays when he feels like it should mean we bin him in the summer.

I was screaming at my stream for Fernandinho to get on the pitch. I'm not one for constantly slating the manager but what on fuckin' earth was Pellegrini watching, that he decided not to take Yaya off in the first 45-60 mins...? Same applies for Delph, of course, who is simply not a left winger.

He's been instrumental in our success in recent years and he is a legend in my eyes, but has run out of steam and looks disinterested. I would use him as an impact sub in these last games then tell him farewell in June.

Next Season... Looking doubtful

This Season... I think he's got one more moment left in him, off the bench to clinch it in Madrid! (Hopefully!)

He should've been played further forward last night and De Bruyne on the left as we were missing Silva and Nasri.

Must be very frustrating for Yaya to have the shackles strapped on him while the boss uses Delph as a left winger.
