The apologists on here look increasingly desperate.

This isn't going away and will continue to damage this awful Government.

But it is a distraction from the catastrophic handling of the pandemic which has cost thousands of lives and damaged the economy beyond what was necessary had decisive action been taken in a timely manner.

But there's a very big difference in taking a preventive measure and seeking childcare if you feel you could be exposed or at risk at some point; your situation.

To only giving your child into the care of another once you discover you have Covid-19. The likelihood of transference at that point is already high; which is what he was doing and it was and is highly irresponsible and disgusting. Especially as parents across the globe have had to cope in the same household.

He also didn't even get any childcare, he was with this child and wife the whole time.

I honestly think this is where things get personal rather than objective. We have a neighbour across the road whose other half was stuck abroad (still is). She gas,had to break every rule under the sun to take care of her kids while she's been single handed. We all do what we can.

What he did was not wrong, as per NHS advice re small children. In his situation I would have done the same thing even if it was against the rules.
Journos are out to get him , it's what they do. Some of the childish nonsense they and his political opponents are spouting reflects the fact they all think the general public are idiots.
Thankfully there are no more pressing matters going on, I mean , people could be dying everywhere, imagine that.

if you had kids you might better understand from a parents perspective why you might be choosy about who you want to be looking after them if you fear that both you and your partner are about to become very ill at the same time.

Why didn't his sister or parents travel down to him? I've got kids and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to drag one of them 250 miles in the dead of night if I thought I was about to become seriously ill. I also wouldn't drive if my eyes were fucked and I certainly wouldn't drive for 30 mins in the wrong direction to test them! Would you??
If you actually believe his story then good for you, me, I think the whole thing is a lie but he's too arrogant to apologise.
