I'm surprised you haven't moved out if that's the case.Oi you! I'm born and bred Chorlton, never had a beard and dress quite the dapper.
And it's a barm.

I believe that it will be terrific! But it will be a terrific debate, I know it will be a really terrific debate. Everyone agrees it will be a terrific debate. I have terrific debating ability. So there's no problem with it being a terrific debate, believe me.
Not here for an argument and have no desire for anyone to get leary.
But a polite question with regard to the issue of integration or lack of it.
As a cohesive society that strives toembrace other cultures and values why then do people choose to live among their own comunities.
Are sections of society to be classified racist purely on the premisse of trying to achive a sense of identity in their own neighbourhood.
We see brits and ex pats living abroad in a cocoon like state enjoying their own culture language and camaraderie.
We see asians living together in large numbers in their community spirit enjoying all the comfort and benefits it must bring to them.
Do we go out on the streets and ostrasise them for an attitude of non integration.
No we don't and fair fooks to any or all them if they choose to live among there own languages customs and shops etc.
The R card has to belong to everyone if it's ever to be produced at all.
People like living among people who are abit like themself. This is true of white british and it is true of most immigrants.
Its why immigrants congregate in certain areas like the the korians in madlden and the bangladesh in tower hamlet.
And what pray are the china towns about if it's not a desire to live within your own perceived comfort zone.
So why is it wrong to wish to move to an area popolated with people of your own culture if it makes you happy.
Obviously I speak of ww and I do not in any way agree with his cricket scenario.Deffo not.
But why can't he live where the heck he wants if it's ok for large swathes of our ethnic brothers to do just that ?
Is it a debate at the moment or more an encirclement of prey. You would have to hope not.
If anyone wants to have a pop at me then fairy-snuff but I would say hes done now't wrong in expressing a desire to live where he feels comfy.
The same rule applies for all.If the lad feels he wants to move to an area of his own choosing then why not eh ?
Diversity is good but never implemented enough. You cannot force people to assimilate or be community diverse.
We can be a multicutural society and be happy ..and yet live were we want.
Well said.So... How does one propose 'integration' if a demographic of people move out when another demographic moves in...??
We are born by luck(or curse to some) in the skin we're in. Every part of your biological make up is made in the same manner i.e., makes us all Human.
Seemingly, we're conditioned by external forces to put things in boxes in order to 'make sense' of things around us. We will never fully get rid of that conditioning, but as we get older and wiser we should be able to examine ourselves inwardly and outwardly to ask 'is there any reason I am better than you?'. The logical mind would say 'no'. I started this process when I was 20. I hold every skin tone I can think of as friend or family.
Once we can look beyond a skin tone, feature and culture, this level of Humanity will be ready to evolve.

Good post and I agree and in no way do I think I am better than my former neighbours. Not in any way shape or form. I lived very close to Clarendon road mosque by the way. But in regard to your first paragraph I would just ask this question. If you lived in a road and became in the minority of a ratio of let's say 20 percent English and 80 percent Asian (which it became). How many people honestly hand on heart would stay as the culture of your area changed before your eyes over a period of 5 years l. I have been totally honest and been castigated for it hugely.
I moved as I fet a stranger in my home street despite getting on with the neighbours on a one to one basis. All my neighbours moved out too over a period of just a few years. Does that make all them as "racist" as me?
Hand on heart I think many people would do the same as I did.
The scariest part is that you might actually learn something about other cultures when you have situations like that.I grew up on a street that was all white. My parents still live there, all other properties on the street now have Muslims families; Egyptian, Iranian, Pakistani and Somalian. My parents welcomed each one and have continued given each other presents and cards at Christmas and Eid.
Skin colour and 'culture' is only a problem if you're so inclined to think it's a problem.
