Where I live, there are mass walkouts in high schools by kids who weren't old enough to vote. They aren't protesting the election result -- they're frightened because they been they've been taught that the rejection of someone else based solely on race, creed, sexual orientation, etc. is a moral wrong, and now -- in their view -- the President appears to espouse exactly that ethos. They are kids. They oversimplify because it's how they deal with a complex world they don't yet understand and they're not yet fully a part of. Frankly, I'm glad to see it. It means they care enough about the world around them to do something about it in what way they can.

Either that or social media and mates are telling them it has to be done and like sheep, off they go.

In 4 years time, let's see how many of them can be arsed to actually vote, be a part of the democratic process and then live with the result like 99.99% of is do.

British politics is going the same way with a tiny minority incapable of not accepting a result they don't like and spending most of their lives bleating about it on facebook.

Hilary's "crap" was nowhere near as extreme as Trump's. If you want a debate on that then bring it on.
The marches are a reaction to those extreme policies he is proposing. Nothing wrong or 'mardy arse' about that.
No one's talking about re-running the election.
Careful about referring to an "overall" mandate because Trump hasn't got one.
Can't be arsed re-running and examining election waffle from two very unlovable candidates, Trump won.
Can you tell me exactly how burning effigies, marching and screaming will help the losers?
Unless they can coerce the military into mounting a coup, it's totally pointless.

Excellent, go a bit further down and get the toddlers in nurseries to wave their shitty nappies in the air in protest.
You've got to be inclusive with this caring lark.

Cute. Just an observation on my part, mate. I'd rather they be paying attention to US politics than hanging around the mall in front of Hot Topic chewing bubblegum.

I lived in the USA when they Obama first got in and i saw all the stuff surrounding the vote before. I found it astonishing on my street even driving home or out there were little kids placarding. These kids were always playing around so when i asked one lad why he was doing that and not playing with his mates he told me his mum and dad told him to. This kid had no idea about anything besides what the next big computer game was going to be, he was about 10yo or so. I found it slightly of kilter and weird having your kids do that on your behalf when they have no real understanding or care about it.

Not going anywhere with the above really except to maybe give those here who have not experienced it a bit of an idea about that dynamic. You know what i found it close to, religious indoctrination of kids, the little sound bites he had drilled into him were just that, not his words but those of his parents. Kids should be left to be kids imo, plenty of time in future for them to get involved in that stuff.

'Course they're sheep -- they're 14-18 years old.

Of course you can't be arsed discussing what both candidates said during the campaign because if you did you would have to acknowledge that one of them ( Trump) was making extreme statements, hence the justification for the protests, and your argument in the dustbin.

He's YOUR president!

Time to move on and actually wait to see what happens. At least give it six months before you judge.

I hoped that his nasty rhetoric was just simplistic bombastic election stuff and so far that seems to be the case. Trump seems to have wound his neck in now he has won. I am not saying he will abandon his position at all, i think he will be a lot more conservative in how he approaches issues like immigration though. I say think, it is still a hope because for all i know he may go ape shit when he gets his arse in office.
