Yes it would have been an invasion of sorts however tactical. Regardless of the civil rights issues. And there are arguments that what was agreed in 1922 was never implemented, but this is not the thread to go down that road.
But ‘invasion!’ , well it never happened. Regardless of the calling for it Jack Lynch did not sanction such an action.
I wonder how different things might have been had it happened.
