Unfortunately ethical people like you don’t become politicians.

There are some — my former state Assemblyman for example, who is a personal friend (his wife ran fundraising for my kids’ school and I did a lot of that) — far more liberal than I am but an incredibly decent man who really wanted to serve and improve people’s lives. Ran for state insurance commissioner nomination and lost; now works for the ADL, so still serving — just for a non-profit (albeit an important one politically) that matters strongly to him. And I think Joe Biden is a decent man too.

I know they’re out there. Some are very young. But no doubt in very high level positions we are very short. ESPECIALLY the Senate.
