I don't really get the angle of the Defence here. They are basically trying to impact Daniels' credibility and make out that she wants Trump to go to jail so she doesn't have to pay him legal fees she owes.

1. I don't think that's how that works. Surely you don't suddenly lose all rights to being paid court fees because you're in jail.
2. Why does that actually matter? Even if her account is a total fabrication, Trump still bought the story off her, he still did that to take it out of the public domain, and in doing so he still broke campaign finance laws and falsified business records.

Surely this whole thing is a massive distraction. As a witness, her role is to simply confirm that she was the other party in the underlying transaction and say why she entered into it. The rest is surely just window dressing?

This whole case is shite anyway. The weakest of all the ones against him. Personally, I think the fact he is compromised by Russia and dodged impeachment, tried blackmailing Ukraine, started an insurrection, and hid classified documents at his house including nuclear secrets and God only knows what intelligence (there is no legitimate reason to do this and who only knows what he was telling who with this info and why) are the key cases and things he should be nailed for. A millionaire off the telly fucking a pornstar and paying her to keep schtum is peanuts and irrelevant. He should have been banging porn stars, I certainly would have if I was him anyway. The point is it didnt change the course of any election, he was caught on tape bragging about grabbing women by the pussy a month before it after all and that didnt stop him being elected. This case is just boring to me, and nothing will come of it, as much as it pains me to think this and as much as I think he is the most dangerous person I have known to be around national leadership in my whole life

1. It doesn’t work that way, you are correct. This is another in a long line of faulty arguments from Trump and his defence team that breakdown with even minimal scrutiny.

2. It doesn’t matter. The only reason the prosecution put her up is to establish credibility through detail. But I think her testimony actually backfired based on the accounts I have read, as she was answering more than was asked and sharing irrelevant details throughout, despite essentially everyone—judge, prosecution, defence—telling her to slow down and just answer the questions being asked.

TBH, I was thinking that it was the right call as everybody should have the opportunity to defend themselves. However, having listened to the RW supporter on sky news, I’ve changed my mind.
