Dortmund away travel advice please

Like the sound of this trip as maybe a bigger allocation than Ajax
Plus German beer and grub at Christmas should be just the ticket
Which airlines go from North West or Brum to Dusseldorf ?

Cheers gents

FlyBE and Luftansa go from Manchester

Ryanair Leeds/Bradford to Dusseldorf (Weeze) return £95 but fares are rising all the time.

Scheduled Flights from Manchester: (None to Dortmund. None to Weeze. None to Paderborn.)

BEST OPTIONS:
Manchester - Dusseldorf: Lufthansa & FlyBe
Manchester - Koln-Bonn: Germanwings

When the above get too expensive, consider:
Manchester - Frankfurt Main: Lufthansa
Manchester - Hahn: Ryanair
Good rail services from Frankfurt Main; Hahn is a coach hub.

If desperate, decent options further afield:
Manchester - Amsterdam: EasyJet (cheap) plus ICE3 rail connection. KLM also fly there but fares tend to be alot more expensive.
Manchester - Bremen is served by Ryanair. It is a long distance from Dortmund but the flight can be very cheap indeed and rail connections down to the Ruhr are good. May save money for a late booking.

In summary, use Dusseldorf or Koln-Bonn Airports if you can. But these will fill up quickly and become very expensive. If you are willing to consider a longer train / coach journey, the other listed airport options are viable as a 'Plan B'.

Enjoy the trip!

Off the immediate topic, but further to the Dortmund flights summary I might as well mention Amsterdam for Ajax and Madrid for Real.

Manchester - Amsterdam: EasyJet & KLM
Manchester - Madrid: EasyJet & Ryanair

Iberia currently fly Manchester - Madrid but the service is due to end 14/09. If they have an ounce of sense they should extend the flights for afew days.

By the way, anybody booking RYANAIR (any route). Be certain to check-in online and PRINT YOUR BOARDING CARD at home. Ryanair charge a massive penalty tariff for printing boarding passes at the airport if you turn up unprepared.

Enjoy the matches. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to post travel advice for MCFC's trip to the final at Wembley next May. All fingers crossed, anyway!
