Dortmund (H) - CL QF | Post-Match Thread

I think it’s fair to say some players made unusual and unforced errors

Agreed. We made a few unusual errors but it doesn't mean our overall performance was poor.

Think the biggest positive is the fact that mistakes from the likes of Ederson and Rodri combined with us missing a few clear chances would've resulted in us losing 6 months ago!

Onwards and upwards.

Not at our best.

Missed too many chances. Hope that doesn't bite us in the 2nd leg.

KDB and Foden a cut above.

BT Sport a fucking disgrace. Both the commentary and post match analyses praising Dortmund whilst criticising us at any opportunity.

FFS, the BT guy just said 'they don't have VAR in Romania'. This is uefa champions league referee, not his first rodeo. I mean, really?

We need Fernandinho in the second leg. Rodri and Cancelo had shockers tonight, two players who we count on a lot in building up our play just nowhere to be seen. Missed chances and all that a different story, we were very lucky to escape with a win. But a win regardless, had to get it and we did. Hope the lads are more focused second leg, that was also Dias' worst performance I've seen for us.

That is a very good point. We seem to need a lot of chances to get a couple of goals. Bayern are on another level to what we usually face in the PL.

Which we aren't going to get deeper into this competition.

Jesus and Dinho both have to play next leg - one to give us more of a goal threat in the box, and the other to shore up that slow and sideways middle we saw tonight.

We look better with a CM of Bernardo, Rodri and Gundogan. Bernardo isn't a false 9 but has the legs to play alongside Rodri and stop us being so easy to play through. I would have swapped him, position wise, with KDB today.
