Douglas Luiz

Think a few on here will be pleasantly surprised at how good he actually is if we get him. You’d think we’re getting him from Oldham going off the last few pages. He’s a good player who will do a very good job for us when called upon
Only this, villa have dropped down the table this season and the only player missing is Luiz, he's decent and takes mean corner which is something we don't have

He is a very good footballer. The flapping over his uselessness is greatly exaggerated.

You have to always remember that there were similar wailings about the current Balon do winner. :)
Decent steady Eddie is Kovacic, but as a DM(number6) he will be found out, especially the top sides.

I know people say this, but i find it to be true only in so far as those around him are inferior. He may not be in the very highest echelon of potential 6s. Not Rodri or Kante

But id easily put him in the Granit Xhaka level of DMs. In other words he can play it just fine if the rest of our team is up to their own task defensively.

Always impressed when Croatia fielded Brozovic, Kovacic, and Modric. Each had a defined role and they all seemed to complement each other. As I mentioned above, getting someone like Luiz in would allow the other midfielders to focus on their jobs and get the best out of them.

Just seems like it makes perfect sense to me.

He knows the Prem, we originally signed him, he’s not playing in Italy, he’s the legs we need, he gets until the end of the season to show he’s worthy of us deciding to keep him.
Don’t see a downside to this. Means we can keep looking elsewhere if needed and have a backup to go for in the summer if it doesn’t work out

I assume it’s just Juve wanting the buy obligation that’s the sticking point, hopefully we’ve tapped him up well enough that he’s happy to wait for deal to go through nearer end of window.

We spent 45mill on Kalvin Phillips and £53mill on Nunes.

If we can't get our first choice (B.Guimares), then he's better than the aforementioned and if we get a Wharton, B.Guimares, Ederson etc in the summer we're better off keeping him and using him as a back up 6 or 8. Sell Nunes and Kova, he's better than both.

If we'd bought him in the summer after the season he'd had for Villa we'd have been buzzing. Didn't work out at Juve, he can come and get back into it here. A few who left Juve to have decent premier league careers...

Fully agree, in principle, though none of us can be entirely sure that he currently has the legs we need. He really seemed to go off the chart last season in terms of playing time, an increase which amounted to almost 13 more full domestic games than the year previous. He then had regular international and summer commitments on top of that, too. I'm actually all for him coming now, but if the club is unsure over his fitness and ability to deliver immediately, I could well understand why.

I’d it just paper talk or are we really interested in him? I think he would be a good signing for us .
