Drink driving

Lots of people who wouldn’t dream of drinking and driving are over the limit when they drive the morning after.

Agreed, midweek games are the killer. If I know I'm driving the next day then I'm careful with what I drink. You might feel fine, drive fine, but if someone runs into you and you're breathalysed it's goodnight licence.

A minibus taxi driver with a bus full of kids pulled out infront of me, I smashed into the side of the van and my mate in the passenger seat shattered both his hands on the dashboard. Turns out the taxi driver was driving pissed up, total wanker
Bloody kids, he might have got away with it if it hadn’t been for those meddling kids.

I was driving to work this morning at around 6am and a car in front was literally all over the road and driving so close to cars ahead, the driver must of been absolutely steaming drunk or on something, It’s scary to think what could of happened or in fact might have happened as they continued driving after I’d left that stretch of the road.

Anyone else had the misfortune of driving near one of these absolute idiots?

can't lie done it myself - pre seat belt days I literally lost my balance and fell into the passenger seat going around the roundabout at the Middleton Archer but at the end of the day you grow up and value your license

Drink driving is a lot more common than people think.

I have friends who regularly go out for meals and quaff bottles of wine and then drive home without batting an eye.

They don’t see anything wrong in doing it.

They normally smarten up after the first DUI, if they don’t then fuck em

Many moons ago I was late meeting up with some friends at The Griffin on Didsbury Road. I ended up having 5 pints of Holts Bitter between 9-11 before leaving for home. Plod on a Motorcycle who had been waiting across the road, pulled me on Mauldeth Road allegedly for speeding. I was breathalysed out in the open, inhaled as much fresh air as possible and amazingly the breathalyser stayed on Green. He was not bothered about the speeding , but lesson was learned for me and now never drink more than 2 pints if I am in the car.

You’d be surprised how over the limit you can be many hours after drinking. Just because you’re sober enough to control the car doesn’t mean you’re in limit to.

To actually get behind a wheel of a car and drive when smashed out of your face on booze though is a cunts trick. There should be a zero tolerance on it. Absolute zero alcohol in the system. It’s the only way it will crack down some.

Same with weed. It won't affect the ability to drive when it's worn off, but it's still there in the system.
