Drink driving

Same with weed. It won't affect the ability to drive when it's worn off, but it's still there in the system.
Shows the stupidity of those who do that. It absolutely reeks, yet they do it anyway. Plain clothes copper behind a car like that and it’s good night.

As I say. Stupid.

On those cop programmes, it's always the dicks that bring attention to themselves that seem to have loads of weed in the car.

Just don't do it. Ignoring the moral arguments (and let's be honest, there is no argument to be had in favour of it), the thought of losing your licence, having to retake the test, and the real "elephant in the room"; your insurance premium going through the roof, should be sufficient reasons for anyone not to do it.

How about the thought of injuring someone or killing them .

The person who hit me paid the ultimate price as he wasn't wearing a seat belt either. Also because of his selfish actions that night 2 kids are growing up without a Dad and his family have lost a son and a brother. I got out relatively unharmed physically but mentally it has changed me. I have to live with his decisions every day.

Many moons ago I was late meeting up with some friends at The Griffin on Didsbury Road. I ended up having 5 pints of Holts Bitter between 9-11 before leaving for home. Plod on a Motorcycle who had been waiting across the road, pulled me on Mauldeth Road allegedly for speeding. I was breathalysed out in the open, inhaled as much fresh air as possible and amazingly the breathalyser stayed on Green. He was not bothered about the speeding , but lesson was learned for me and now never drink more than 2 pints if I am in the car.
I doubt you'd get away with it these days, with the high tech machinery they have now. Scoffing a bucket load of mints won't work now!

I do a fair bit of driving for my job, you have to have your wits about you on our roads and I can't even imagine impairing myself and my decision making and playing russian roulette with other people's lives. I get terrible remorse with a hangover as it is, imagine if it was something life changing. I've been at the front of motorway closures twice in the past few years, forced to sit there whilst the air ambulance lands, seeing and hearing every little thing happening a few yards away. It's a very sobering sight.

I have a dash cam now, on the on the insistence of our car lease provider, but it gives me some comfort to know I can have a record of someone else's dangerous behaviour on the roads. Not saying I'm a perfect driver all of the time, but I certainly would never intentionally put myself and my family at greater risk, just for a beer.
