Dropping out of the top 4 - potential repercussions?

FFP is frankly a very poor excuse for how a championship winning team has managed to be completely shit all season. The way we play is easy to counter, last season it was the same and only an almighty fuck up and us getting a run of wins pulled us out of another shit season. We didn't deserve to win the league cup final either. IMO, we need a young coach who is flexible enough to learn from mistakes. I think pelle, like Wenger, has done a lot in his career and that has made him very stubborn. That's not what we need right now. Personally I would love Klopp, his English is good, he's proven to develop younger players and he's fucking mental, we would be a perfect blend!

Does anyone think there might be a resurgence in form if a financial incentive to finish in top 4 is applied as a topup to the existing FFP defeating bonus system ?

Well we certainly are NOT one of the form teams in the top four, I think most people are just being realistic....I know its mentioned "Top four" but isn't a top 3 finish much better or don't you have to play those extra qualifying rounds for fourth place, I NEVER thought Id say this as I have ALWAYS hated CFC BUT I will be rooting for them to beat AFC and just PRAY that we improve 100% and other results go our way, Khaldoon Al Mubarak cant be a happy man right now ,Maybe its Ironic But since we moved from Carrington to The Marble floors of the " Etihad campus " thing have taken a DRASTIC turn for the worse anyone that says "don't be paranoid or its not that bad" NEEDS a reality check !!!!!!!!

Not going to help though either is it?

Them lot might be able to stomach a loss of £35m in revenue. Can we? We are expanding the stadium and ticket prices are going through the roof. Will all of these new fans continue to pay if we continue serving up the very average football we have seen on the whole this season.

My hope is that it is completely Pellegrini's fault and the players just struggle to get the way he wants them to play but I don't think it is and a new manager may also struggle to motivate this lot.

I can't understand how a bunch of players who all seemed to love him last year now just don't seem to be bothered at all.

We must do whatever it takes to beat West Brom and then take it from there.

We truly don't know what is going on behind the scenes and can only really speculate.

I still think fans will turn up in numbers unless prices go crazy. We've endured years and years of shit so debating perhaps Guardiola v Ancelotti is surreal when in years gone by it was Neil Warnock v Owen Coyle.

I don't think we need to go overboard on this "lack of effort" thing.

Yes, you can see that perhaps some players are not giving it absolutely 100.00%, but it's not like they all couldn't give a toss and they don't set out to drop points.

The FAR bigger problem imho is that many teams have sussed us out. They don't allow us time on the ball, they defend solidly with backs to the wall and then attack at speed or with long balls. Do this and you are in with a good chance of taking points off us. Our manager seems incapable of realising this, or doing anything to combat it.

They don't deserve it.

Correct but what about our owner and us for that matter ? Why should we be penalised by the apathetic attitude of gifted stars ?
Anything that focuses their mind is worthy of trying if only in desperation.

The time for any recriminations will be after the season ends, but until it all distills we must give them every encouragement to perform with pride, passion and positive attitude for the club that we all love.

Thought I read somewhere that you can't add incentives during a season.

Maybe so but I was meaning an 'adjustment' of the existing bonus system that rewards success and was instrumental in allowing us to comply with FFP.
