Dropping out of the top 4 - potential repercussions?

Doesn't even bear thinking about. Would set the club back 5 years. We'd probably lose Sergio and Silva, we wouldn't be able to get the manager we want to replace this deadleg and we certainly wouldn't be able to get the players we need

One season out of the top four isn't going to kill the club, don't be daft.

If Utd qualify for Europe which is still more likely than less likely of if its Liverpool or Spurs etc our expense its not the end of the world.

Sides have fallen out of Chumps League competition and bounced back quickly.

We would have no trouble getting players of better quality that we currently have but its more a question of whether we get the right type of player.

Hungry for success and able to be part of a successful side.

It's quite feasible that we could lose 3 and draw 1 of our away games + Soton at home. In such an event 5th may be the likeliest position.

I don't believe that this is feasible at all.

We've lost 5 games in 29 games apparently playing awfully. I suspect we're not going to lose 3 in 9 and draw 2.

We have only won 4 out our last 11 league matches. We were poor at the start of the season but were very good in November and December but since the new year our form has fallen off a cliff.

We have never done things the easy way, winning promotions, winning leagues,
we have always left things late or till the last game, it's City it's our make up, I accept it's unlikely we will win the league now, but what's the betting we will have a last game 4th place decider between us and united, we are at home to Southampton , United away to hull, I can see it now , it's the way it works with us, always exciting, never boring.

Yep. That's about it.
Extrapolate that form to the end of the season and we won't even finish in the top 7.

lose 2 and draw 2 and we'd be on 75pts. I would not be confident of top 4 with that, esp. not if we lost to Utd and Spurs

I'm still clinging to the belief we'll get our act together enough to finish in the top four. A lot of our rivals play each other in the coming weeks, so points will be dropped somewhere. A win against West Brom at home, coupled with our existing points (and goal difference) advantage will give us a bit of breathing space. It's too good a squad to completely capitulate, even though it seems hard to see light at the end of the tunnel at the moment. Big changes needed in the summer regardless though.

can't see it

we've got enough to do what we need to

but big rethink required for the next campaign

There's a shit storm coming but i'v supported this club for 55 years, it's nowt I aint seen before, still support them when they put me in a wooden box

I think no matter how the last 9 games go more and more are coming to the conclusion that this current squad have run their race.

Mangala has had too much invested in him to cast off after one indifferent season.

Silva and Kun who while their form has dropped off considerably of late would still be stand out players when we revamp this squad over the next two years.

Hart probably keeps his place more by default and the fact he has still the best years ahead of him if he applies himself and realises he has a long way to go to be considered a class keeper.

Fernandinho should survive the cull over the next two seasons.

Bony likewise although I have been disappointed in his start with us.

Who else in the current crop will be with us in two years time?

Hopefully no one otherwise we will regress further.
