Maybe they just hate you, which is understandable, as you are an ignorant racist bigot.
I must have visited Dublin a hundred times, and have never heard a word against the English.
I have family in Finglas and Drumcondra in the 'shithole' north, and they are lovely folk who don't hate the English either.
Unlike an idiot like you, who hates everyone.
So do us all a favour and take your fucking stupidity and prejudice elsewhere.

I live on the Northside of the City too not too far away from Finglas too in Ballymun. 1 tip don't be a arsehole and if you willing to have banter then you will be fine in any pub anywhere in Dublin.

As for places to see and go. All the musuems are free. Apart from the Wax Musseum which is so dated its almost comical. Well Kilmanahan Gaol and the Modern Art Museum are well worth a look there. Hugh Lane Gallery on Parnell Square too is well worth a look and FREE. IF its nice the Iveagh Gardens are good and wouldn't be as packed as Stephens Green. But a stones throw away from it. Also just on the outside of the City is the Botanic Gardens and theres a real old fashioned pub not too far called the Gravediggers Pub a lovely spot not been there for a while.

As for food get some cheap but nice food in the pubs around the City Centre and its cheap. I love the likes of Crackbird on Dame Street and Bobos on Dame Street. 1s a place that does nothing but Chicken food but lovely chicken food at reasonable prices they don't do chips in there. Then Bobos is lovely gourmet burgers big chunky burgers and chips it will fill you but a little bit expensive and the setting is nice too. Any way depending on your age young people head to Temple bar you will be ripped off. Visit the Guinness Storehouse and there is 1 in Simthfield a whiskey place that might be worth a look at too.

Really ???. I was born and reared in Dundrum, did a bit of drinking in Rathmines as a youth ha!!, small world indeed. What I mean about The Blue Light is that it's a local pub, not geared towards the tourist. Fantastic view of Dublin bay and if your a U2 fan the band are frequent users as the locals couldn't be arsed who you are ha!. Next time your over check it out mate

Sorry if there is already a thread on Dublin somewhere.
Going here with my girlfriend for a weekend in a few weeks. Anybody know good things to do, good restraunts and couple friendly bars/clubs that they could recommended? Thanks

If you're going with your girlfriend, I'd stick around the Grafton street/Stephens Green area for going out. Nicest part of town really and plenty of shopping to keep her happy and good places to eat and drink.
Lot's of great pubs - McDaids, Kehoes, Neary's, Sheehans.
Music bars - Hogans, Bruxelles, Grogans and anywhere on Wexford street too
Dawson Street - lot of late bars, more expensive, bit posher
Against the Grain for an excellent selection of Craft Beers on Wexford Street if that's up your street.
To eat - there's several Michelin star restaurants in town, look them up if that's your thing
There's plenty of great alternatives:
Saba - great Thai place
Fade street social - tapas, painfully trendy and pricey but great food
Any FXB or Marco Pierre White for steak. Shanahan’s if you've got deep pockets!
Pizza stop is a very cute Italian off Grafton Street and stay away from Indian over here, you'll be disappointed and it's pricey
Stay out of Temple bar and watch yourself in north inner Dublin late at night, we've a big heroin problem in the inner city and its most visible there.
Dalkey, Howth, Malahide, are all coastal villages well worth a visit outside the city centre and the Phoenix Park is an amazing amenity just west of town. My favourite pub in Dublin, Ryan’s, is near the entrance to the park. Lovely ambience and a great pint. Good pub grub too.
There’s other parks in town like the Iveagh gardens and St Stephens Green and Merrion Sqaure which are very central and if it’s sunny are nice for a stroll.
There’s always plenty of plays, gigs and musicals on, check out the Abbey, Olympia and Borg Gais theatres for lisitings.
If you’re an art buff, check out the listings on the national gallery and IMMA (modern Art). The latter has lovely grounds to walk around.

Dublin has more characters per square foot than anywhere else in the world. I lived up there for a year and found the best nights out were went I popped in to the Rosie in Blanch on my own after work for a quiet one.. Met some funny bastards in there. The taxi drivers are mental too.
