Dublin

Just for more things to do if you like your stand up comedy then head to the Laughter Lounge just off O Connell Bridge on the Quays. It does be around €25 each for a comedy night and at times they can have some very good comedians on it. Never a bad night. Also get the drink promotions on it most weekends the last time I went it was jammed packed so get there early. Something different and you always get a hen party or a stags party at it and they get the piss taken out of them all the time. As others have said about the spots around town its easy to find a pub and most people in the pubs will be grand with you. Agree about the inner City at times with the drugs problems. I cant stand it but just have your wits about you stay on the main streets at night just to be safer.

Been loads of times over the years and never had a bad time yet. Always made welcome, as others have said bit expensive.

I always start of in Madigans just off O'Connell Street then just take a walk - Temple Bar bit of tourist trap but I have found most pubs are good.

Like any city keep wits about you especially in evening

Have a good un

I second Madigans, great breakfast there as well.

A bit of help required

Has anyone got any recommendations of hotels to stay in Dublin that are in the City Centre, preferably within walking distance of Templebar?

I've been a couple of times but stayed in hostels with my mates, taking the Mrs this time so I want somewhere a little bit more 'convenient' but not too expensive.

Cheers :)

If you don't have a problem taking the LUAS the Ashling Hotel by Heuston Station is quite nice and cheap. Probably run you in the £75 range
