Delete this thread. Embarrassing
Like all social media, this place often becomes a rush to the most extreme opinion, and those exaggerated comments being brought back up and laughed at should be some sort of tempering measure to bring people back towards the middle, which is much better for discussion in general.
Plus we should all be able to look back and laugh when we've gotten it wrong and remember it's just football chat.
It’s easy to mock others with the benefit of hindsight to be fair.
Most of us thought he’d lost his spark at the beginning of the season but it’s now proven he was sorting the defence out and building from the back.
Yeah a few did say that and congratulations but I don’t blame Fame Monster, we’re all desperate for City to win.
"most of us" ?? Not sure that is accurate.It’s easy to mock others with the benefit of hindsight to be fair.

Agreed.No! Keep it, remember how ridiculous the overreaction to the start of this season was next time we hit a rough patch.
Go back and have a look at the “Pep signs new deal thread”."most of us" ?? Not sure that is accurate.
Have you read the OP?It's easy to be wise after the fact but it surely has been obvious for some considerable time that:
we probably have the best coach in world football;
Pep's understanding of the game is streets ahead of the average football professional, let alone man on the street;
Pep is a progressive thoughtful coach that constantly looks to improve and develop how his teams plays whilst still sticking to the principles of the game to which he ascribes; and
he really ought to be trusted to sort it.
Also, lack of excitement in City games is usually far more to do with how the opposition approach the game in order to prevent City tearing them to pieces.
Sure the teams form was not at its best and there were some issues to be solved, most importantly raising belief and confidence, but those were always likely to be temporary matters given the players and manager that City have.
And we should all heed Pep's words, City are one game closer to losing again; what matters is how they respond to that.
This didnt age very well did it raggy?Way too reliant on De Bruyne.
Have you read the OP?
All he said was it’s the dullest football since Pearce, because of the double pivot, he didn’t say it was the worst side since Pearce.
I've read that thread. There were multiple posts by a number of posters, rather than multiple posters, who thought it might not be the best thing and no posts on the topic by some members. I would think "some of us " rather than "most of us", would be a fairer description of the posts on that thread. Anyway, 1 of us, at least, is very happy that he is still with us.Go back and have a look at the “Pep signs new deal thread”.
more posts than not were saying it might not be the best thing.
So am I. I don’t think I was that out of line to wonder if he had lost it with City, considering that is very normal with football cycles after 4 years, very happy to be proven wrong though.I've read that thread. You were perfectly entitled to your opinion and Imo not out of line to wonder.So am I. I don’t think I was that out of line to wonder if he had lost it with City, considering that is very normal with football cycles after 4 years, very happy to be proven wrong though.
I can think of one post I made after we dropped points I am not proud of but I was emotional when posting which is never a good look. I calmed down and reflected.You were perfectly entitled to your opinion and Imo not out of line to wonder.
I think the issue that proved controversial at the time was the tone, illogical thinking and OTT nasty language and attitude to Pep, of a number of posters, which others felt was disrespectful to Pep & City. Bile spewing got in the way of reasoned discussion too often.
I see what you mean.....I can think of one post I made after we dropped points I am not proud of but I was emotional when posting which is never a good look. I calmed down and reflected.
If there is one goal in the game I am a nervous wreck and I lose my head until we go 2 up.
Football changes people, I am not like this with rugby or cricket.
Bet my name is tossed around the mod room like confettiI see what you mean.....

Not at all. The real question is, does the cycle relate to players or the manager ? Can another manager do better than Pep with our squad, not sure that would be the case ? We are having an overhaul having lost some great players and need some new replacments, Sergio, Fern, for example.Very sad, but true. Very few players come in and transform a team overnight.Lets be patient and trust our team, pitch and management.So am I.
